3 big mistakes WWE should have avoided on the RAW before WrestleMania 35 (2 April 2019)

RAW offered a great show
RAW offered a great show

It was the last RAW before the Show of Shows, and the fans anticipated an action-packed show this week. Though some segments and bouts were substandard, it was a good show overall. Considering this week's RAW was the final chapter before the Showcase of Immortals, the episode certainly did not meet the expectations of WWE Universe.

There is no denying that the massive brawl between the three participants of the RAW Women's Championship match was one of the best moments of the night. Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair subsequently got arrested. Seth Rollins stood tall this week when he took down Brock Lesnar, and he will be confident before their bout in New Jersey while Drew McIntyre attacked his WrestleMania opponent Roman Reigns in the backstage.

Finn Balor surprised everyone when he announced to bring out his alter ego at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Batista appeared on the RAW, but Triple H did not confront his WrestleMania opponent. Moreover, the Revival retained the RAW Tag Team Titles after defeating the team of Aleister Black and Ricochet by count out. Surprisingly, Baron Corbin closed the show when he defeated Rey Mysterio.

Despite producing an action-packed episode of the flagship show, it lacked firepower. Here, we discuss three mistakes WWE made on RAW this week.

#3 Letting Rey Mysterio lose to Baron Corbin

Considering it was the final RAW before the Showcase of Immortals, we expected a mind-boggling main event. However, the main event was indeed tedious as Baron Corbin faced Rey Mysterio. Earlier, Kurt Angle was scheduled to fight Mysterio, but Corbin replaced him.

Even though it was a not exciting way to close the flagship show this week, the outcome of the match could hurt Rey Mysterio. The former WWE Champion is scheduled to face the US Champion Samoa Joe, but a loss before WrestleMania could derail his momentum. Though Samoa Joe lost to Kurt Angle last week, Corbin doesn't have a similar stature like the Olympic Gold Medalist.

#2 Batista and Triple H did not confront each other

It is no secret that the match between Batista and Triple H is one of the most anticipated matches this year. Vince McMahon's billion dollar company has been building this feud for months, and it could stand out from the rest at Metlife Stadium. However, the two men confronted each other only once in this feud when the Animal showed up with security a few weeks ago, and they had a fierce segment.

An intense segment or a brawl between the two superstars could have been spectacular on RAW this week. Considering the Game will put this career on the line at the Show of Shows, it is one of the most significant matches of his career.

It is not their first meeting at the Showcase of Immortals as the two men headlined WrestleMania 21. Batista defeated Triple H, and it was undoubtedly one of the best feuds of the last decade. Though the two men did not have any segment or brawl in the final RAW before WrestleMania, the fans are heavily invested in this rivalry.

#1 No appearance of Undertaker or John Cena

Following the RAW episode this week, it is clear that we could be heading to the Showcase of Immortals without Undertaker and John Cena. Several fans expected either of the two superstars to show up on RAW this week, but it did not happen. The two legendary superstars faced each other at WrestleMania 34, but they have a gigantic possibility to be absent this year. Without a shadow of a doubt, it could be a huge blow for Vince McMahon's billion dollar company if the two superstars do not show up at Metlife Stadium.

Cena returned to the company earlier this year when he had mind-boggling segments with Drew McIntyre. Unfortunately, the 16-time WWE Champion got sidelined due to an injury. With no match at the Show of Shows this year, it will be interesting to see if he makes a special appearance in New Jersey.

Undertaker is undoubtedly one of the main attractions of WrestleMania, and it could be unusual if he misses WrestleMania 35. The Phenom skipped WrestleMania 16 due to an injury, and he might miss the Show of Shows after 19 years.
