5 Botches, slip ups, and outrageous moments from WWE Raw Nov 28, 2016

It was a phenomenal show but there’s always bound to be mistakes

Monday Night Raw kicked off our wrestling week like it always does and thankfully, we’re off to a good start. There was minimal filler, several above average matches, and we even were treated to a crowd-pleasing title change in the main event. All the credit in the world goes to Charlotte and Sasha Banks for tearing the roof off, to cap off the night.

Plus, any time Ric Flair comes out to celebrate a new champion in the middle of North Carolina is a formula for quality television.

In spite of an overall good night of wrestling, there are always bound to be mistakes somewhere. Three hours of live programming makes that fact inevitable. So even though Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns competed in a hard fought match, the Universal Champion’s very noticeable tongue twister in the opening segment is about to get the GIF treatment.

Also, Sasha Banks had an epic night as she reclaimed the Raw Women’s Championship, but that doesn’t mean that the help she received from the referee should go ignored.

So make sure all of your teeth are firmly in place, kick back, and enjoy five botches, slip ups, and outrageous moments from this late November edition of Raw.

#5 An unfair advantage

Sasha Banks faced off against Charlotte in the main event, winning the Raw Women’s Championship for the third time. It was historic because it was the first time the ladies competed for a title under a Falls Count Anywhere stipulation. Also, it was simply a darn good match. Sasha’s win was big, but it wasn’t like she didn’t have help along the way...

WWE referees are supposed to be unbiased officials, yet this guy is actively trying to assist Sasha when she’s in peril. While Charlotte was locking on her Figure 8, a submission hold that certainly would’ve made The Boss tap out, the ref made sure to kick the kendo stick within Sasha’s reach.

The stick was then used by Banks to wail on Sasha while in the hold, giving her the opportunity to break free.

#4 Toothless aggression

Just one week after Braun Strowman beat on Sami Zayn so badly that Mick Foley was forced to stop the match early, Zayn came out to rescue Goldust from a post-match beatdown after Braun decisively beat his tag team partner R-Truth. Just like last week, Strowman easily dismantled Sami’s attack.

Also just like last week, Mick Foley came out to halt the onslaught. A commercial break passed, and when we returned, Zayn gave a passionate promo directed at Mick about being denied opportunities that Foley was once offered.

Mick retorted loud and passionately, but what was it about? It was hard to tell because the words that came out of his mouth were overshadowed by his own teeth, which he quickly nabbed upon their oral exit.

Foley himself Tweeted about the incident, indicating that he actually was a good sport about the ordeal...

“Just means @iLikeSamiZayn brought something out in me.”

#3 Stuffing Lana’s turkey

WWE is a PG show, but Enzo & Cass have been pushing that family-friendly rating as of late. Last week, Enzo needed his crotch blurred as he took his voyeurism straight to the eyes of another man’s wife. This week, he made a comment to Lana about getting her turkey stuffed. How festive of him!

Enzo Amore’s innuendos are humorous, yes. These three kids in the audience also think so as well. That’s fine that WWE wants to tell jokes like that and in fact, it’s way better than a lot of the dialogue that makes it onto TV. It’s just that it’s outrageous to call this PG. Won’t somebody think of the children?!

#2 Kevin Owen’s brilliant trash talking

If any other wrestlers had several minute-long headlocks as part of their regular move set, it would be disastrous. However, Kevin Owens is the one man who can pull it off, and that’s because it’s an outlet for him to talk an endless amount of smack.

Since he got picked on for messing up a line earlier in this article, let’s take a brief moment to appreciate the hilarity of what he spewed at Roman Reigns during their match together.

In addition to the line embedded in the above GIF, Owens also told Roman to “go back to football or whatever the hell you were doing.” It’s almost a failed insult, but it works better because he doesn’t even care enough about Roman to find out exactly what he might’ve done prior to WWE.

#1 The Universal what?

Okay, so Kevin Owens bungled his words while trying to say that he was the Universal Champion. He’s a talented speaker who gets loads of mic time every Monday night, so we won’t hold this one too strongly against him. He still gets this GIF made out of his error, because he can’t be let off the hook that easily, but he’s still one of the best personalities in all of WWE.

Even with this momentary flub, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens were on point during this edition of the highlight reel.
