Feud with CM Punk is Brock Lesnar's best booking since return

Brock Lesnar lifts CM Punk

Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE after a brief stint with UFC. Many people marked him as a traitor and it never looked as if Brock would ever come back to WWE. But a wrestler with the talent of Lesnar can never be kept out of any business, and the same people who accused him of leaving WWE today go berserk when Lesnar makes his way to the ring.

Lesnar is a typical monster and one of the fiercest competitors in the business today. His strength, size, speed and looks are sure to give opponents nightmares. His ability to intimidate just by his mere presence makes him one of the toughest heels in the company today.

His return to WWE two years back was huge news for everyone in the industry. Expectations were soaring high as fans expected Lesnar to make a huge impact after his return, and while Lesnar did manage to create a lot of buzz, his feuds turned out to be a disappointment.

Lesnar started his new run in the WWE with a feud against Cena. It was considered the biggest threat to John Cena‘s much celebrated career, but ended in a jiffy. The feud was well built after John Cena witnessed an unexpected return from the monster and was laid on his back with a F5.

With a bloody brawl on RAW later on, Lesnar’s Extreme Rules match against Cena was expected to be an epic encounter. But quite frankly, the match was way below par not only because of the result but also the way the match was carried about. Lesnar lost to Cena after he remained in control almost the entire match. The feud between the two ended right there, and fans were stunned as they were expecting this huge battle to last longer.

This was followed by another feud that was dragged for over a year. Lesnar faced Triple H in what was supposed to The Game’s way to earn respect. Triple H tapped out to Lesnar at SummerSlam last year, which led to another brawl between the two at Wrestlemania 29, where Paul levelled the score. The feud finally was brought to an end at Extreme Rules this year, where Lesnar came out victorious.

Despite Lesnar’s victory over Triple H, he didn’t earn anything credible. Lesnar remained in the same position mainly because his victories weren’t as glorified as they should have been.

But now, Lesnar’s feuding with Punk in what can be called the most anticipated match of the year. Punk has beaten several top stars including Cena. He has been in feuds with The Rock, the Undertaker and other huge stars, which have elevated him along the likes of Cena. But he hasn’t overcome a wrestler with the stature of Lesnar.

There is no doubt that Punk’s the best worker in the ring and is excellent on the mic. The only problem that Punk has is his physique. This problem hasn’t often led Punk into feuds with bigger and stronger wrestlers. Punk now has an opportunity to do that at SummerSlam against Lesnar, who looks dangerous and intimidating courtesy his showdown at RAW in the past few weeks.

In conclusion, it can be said that the WWE is finally using Lesnar to his full potential. Lesnar’s role in his present run is definitely to help talent get over, and his current feud is doing just that. Let’s hope the future too has several promising talents entering a meaningful feud with Lesnar, such as this.
