From the WWE Rumour Mill: MMA faction to make their WrestleMania debut next year?

What's the story?

You saw them in attendance at the Mae Young Classic. You know that all of them are huge WWE fans, too.

Cageside Seats alleges that the Four Horsewomen will be working a match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. There isn't likely to be an angle featuring the Horsewomen, unfortunately, until next year, though.

In case you didn't know...

Once upon a time, led by Ric Flair, there were four exemplary workers who caused havoc in the NWA known as The Four Horsemen. As a tribute to these legends of the business, Ronda Rousey began her own faction called the Four Horsewomen.

Her faction consists of Rousey herself, Shayna Baszler (finalist in the Mae Young Classic tournament), Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, the better half of NXT superstar, Roderick Strong.

We saw these women face off against the four Horsewomen of WWE- Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley, during the Mae Young Classic tournament. Fans have been anxious to see a showdown between these two groups, inside a WWE ring, someday.

The heart of the matter

We'd recently posted an article that showed Ronda Rousey training in a WWE ring with Natalya. It is clear that something is in the works, for the near future.

If the rumours are indeed true, the most likely match that could transpire is one between The Four Horsewomen against The Four Horsewomen. While this would be the first in-ring rodeo for the Four Horsewomen of MMA, the WWE Horsewomen are all good workers and they can carry the MMA stars to a good match, in New Orleans.

What's next?

According to the rumour, the next development in this angle will happen well into next year. So, we may have to wait a while to find out what exactly WWE has planned for us, at WrestleMania. It is guaranteed to be a big deal though!

Author's take

I'm all for the match. It will draw a lot of casuals to the WWE product and can help the company's business over the long haul if Rousey were to lead her faction into battle against WWE's biggest stars.

We already know that Shayna Baszler can wrestle, and are certain the others will not really disappoint either.
