John Cena on his potential retirement plans, reinventing himself and more

Cena doing what he does best for WWE

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, WWE superstar John Cena discussed his potential retirement plans while promoting the film “Sisters”, in which Cena stars along with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.

Sisters director, Jason Moore, believes that Cena would seamlessly fit into any movie genre, but the wrestler refuses to trade WWE for Hollywood as his affection for the former is too much to die down.

Cena was quoted as saying: “I know that I’m in a time-fighting business. I’ve always sworn to myself that if I can’t keep up with the current level athletically, it’s my time to take another role, whether that’s commentating on the matches or stepping behind the curtain and molding younger talent” said Cena.

The wrestler also stated that he’d do whatever was in his power to help the business grow, while stating that the happiness his character brings to fans is what drives him on every single day. And one of the main things that gets him up in the morning is pleasing kids, many of whom view him as their hero.

The 38-year-old also stated that the skills he learns on a daily basis, helps him with his acting, saying: “Every night is new. Every piece of material is different. That’s to me what keeps that passionate fire to perform live in front of people.”

Cena, who’s already cemented his status as a wrestling legend, is one of the WWE’s most recognised faces and has lifted – among other things: twelve WWE World Heavyweight Championships, five WWE United States Championships and three World Heavyweight Championships.
