WWE legend John Cena has opened up about the scariest moment during his time with the company.

The Cenation Leader will go down as one of the greatest superstars in the history of WWE. He is a 16-time World Champion and one of the most respected wrestlers in the business today. Cena is bound to receive a first-ballot Hall of Fame induction somewhere down the line.

John Cena recently appeared on NotSam Wrestling podcast. He opened up on several topics concerning his illustrious career. He also revealed the scariest moment of his WWE run. Cena recalled WWE giving him plenty of opportunities that he didn't capitalize on.

Longtime fans are aware that he was given feuds with top names like Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle during his first few weeks in the company. Cena was eventually informed that he would be getting released soon:

"And I was told, like, 'They make a winter and spring cuts and yeah, you're gonna be in the winter round, just letting you know.' Then the European tour in the fall saved me. So that's my, that's my scariest moment." [H/T SEScoops]

John Cena made his memorable debut in a segment with Kurt Angle

Cena's SmackDown debut in the spring of 2002 saw him confronting former WWE Champion Kurt Angle. This led to Cena slapping Angle to a loud pop, followed by a singles match between the two men.

Surprisingly, the rookie held his own during the bout, and the audience was beyond impressed. Cena came incredibly close to defeating Angle. After Kurt somehow managed to pick up a win over the young gun, he refused to shake his hand and went backstage to a chorus of boos.
