Vince Russo says top WWE star must beat the "crap out of" his stablemates and move on (Exclusive)

Vince Russo is vocal about his views on wrestling.

Vince Russo wants Gunther to move on in WWE without his Imperium stablemates, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, on his side.

While The Ring General is a dominant champion, putting down everyone in his path, Kaiser and Vinci haven't been booked as strongly as they seldom win. They even fell short in their first match on RAW since being drafted to the brand, going down to Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, Vince Russo opened up about how Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci might be bringing down Gunther.

He explained that since they aren't a family, unlike The Bloodline, the Intercontinental Champion could attack Kaiser and Vinci and chart his own path in WWE. Vince Russo wondered if the promotion was heading in the same creative direction.

"And that's the thing. It really does tarnish if they are with Gunther unless he demolishes them. You see, the thing with Reigns and Usos was that they were family. But they are not family. They are supposedly meant to be Gunther's right-hand men, and the fact of the matter is, first time out of the gate, they lose. If it's me, if I'm Gunther, I'm beating the crap out of both of them and I'm moving on. And who knows, maybe that's what they are gonna do," said Vince Russo. (3:21 - 4:00)

Gunther is the favorite to win WWE Royal Rumble 2024

The Imperium leader is closing on 400 days as the Intercontinental Champion in what is arguably one of the greatest reigns in the title's illustrious history.

WWE has left no stone unturned to present Gunther as a main eventer, and the latest reports indicate the Austrian star might be staring at a much bigger push.

As per a recent rumor, Gunther is "earmarked" to win the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble match. It was also noted that if the 35-year-old emerged victorious, he would challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 40.

It remains to be seen if plans change in the coming months or if Gunther is destined to win the marquee match and go on to have a title match at Mania.
