WWE star Dominik Mysterio calls out recent report about his injury

Top WWE faction The Judgment Day took a major blow on Monday Night RAW with Rhea Ripley's unforeseen and unfortunate injury. It appeared her on-screen partner Dominik Mysterio also suffered a "freak accident" during his match against Andrade on the April 15th episode of the flagship show.

There was a report earlier today with Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer as a source that "Dirty" Dom will be undergoing Tommy John surgery - an elbow operation that repairs the UCL. However, the former NXT North American Champion has shut down those rumors.

Dominik Mysterio was seen this week wearing a cast and found a replacement for his tag team match in Santos Escobar. He took to X assuring fans that he is not going anywhere:

"No surgery for this guy..." Dominik Mysterio wrote.

Rhea Ripley's injury has cast doubt in the eyes of fans as to whether this could be the beginning of the end for The Judgment Day. The faction has shown signs of dissension already. World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest claimed on the latest episode of WWE RAW that he does not need the rest of them, but that sentiment is not true the other way around.

Dominik Mysterio linked up with Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day in September 2022 after turning on his father, Rey Mysterio. The father-son duo were feuding with the heel faction alongside Adam 'Edge' Copeland before the shocking twist happened at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales.

From that point on, Mami and Dom became a thing on-screen. They are cited as a modern-day version of Edge and Lita on WWE programming.

Interestingly, Rhea's real-life fiancé Buddy Matthews, who previously worked for the WWE, was booked in a storyline with Dom's sister Aalyah shortly before his release in June 2021. Speaking about how Matthews deals with this on the Impaulsive podcast, Ripley said:

"Not many people could be in a relationship through that. Yeah, if the roles were reversed, I don't think I could [do it] either," Rhea Ripley said in agreement with Logan Paul.

Rhea Ripley is expected to be out for a long time, and on account of this was forced to relinquish the Women's World Championship last week. Her last title defense was against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania XL. The Irish-born wrestler appeared on RAW this week for the first time since her loss on the grand stage, winning the belt in the women's battle royal main event of the show.
