Roman Reigns will celebrate 1000 days as the WWE Universal Champion on June 2, 2023. The Tribal Chief and The Bloodline will celebrate the milestone day, but it must also mark the beginning of a rivalry between himself and Seth Rollins.

June 2, 2014, was the day when Seth Rollins shocked the wrestling world by turning on The Shield by attacking Dean Ambrose (now known as Jon Moxley) and the Big Dog. It was the beginning of amazing singles careers for all three members of the legendary trio.

All three members of The Shield have feuded against each other numerous times since then. However, because Jon Moxley left WWE for AEW, the story between the remaining two Shield members is much deeper.

They squared off in a world title match at Royal Rumble 2022, where the Monday Night Messiah scored the win, albeit via disqualification. In the build-up to that match, the story was that despite the Head of the Table's dominance over the WWE roster, the Visionary still possessed the ability to get in his former stablemate's head like nobody else.

With the 1000-day celebration coming up, it is time for Triple H to revisit this storyline. It could be a Champion vs. Champion feud if Seth Rollins can vanquish AJ Styles at Night of Champions 2023, and considering that the former is the favorite to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the stakes could be much higher.

Seth Rollins took shots at Roman Reigns on WWE RAW

Ever since Roman Reigns became the world champion, everyone else on the main roster has had to play catch up. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to win both world titles, and since he was contracted to SmackDown, the red brand was left without a champion.

On a recent edition of RAW, Seth Rollins called the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion selfish. He then stated that he intends to win the World Heavyweight Championship so the fans can forget about the leader of The Bloodline.

"@WWERomanReigns is taking opportunities away from EVERYBODY else. That's about as selfish as you can be. I want to become World Heavyweight Champion so we can all forget about Roman Reigns."

Before 2022, their last world title match came at Money in the Bank 2016 when Rollins defeated Roman Reigns to become the world champion. A future clash between the two would surely get fans' pulses racing.
