WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 12th December 2016

What can we expect from this week's Raw

We move one week closer towards Roadblock as WWE brings us the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. After what went down this past week, there are some exciting segments that we can expect at the show.

Charlotte and Sasha Banks being booked for a historical iron-woman match at Roadblock will be one of the major talking points. The ongoing streak of New Day and an exciting debut make matters more interesting.

The main event scene featuring the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens is also bound to make headlines. In this list, we will be looking at the possible segments at the show and how they could have an impact ahead of Roadblock.

#5 Emmalina debuts

After weeks and weeks of buildup, Emmalina is set to make her debut on Monday Night Raw. Emma, who had proved her worth during her time in NXT with great outings alongside Paige, is set to be repackaged.

With the talent that Emma has, the repackaging will not only benefit her but at the same time, it would be a boost for the division which is currently overshadowed by Sasha Banks and Charlotte.

Also, we can expect a swerve considering how the repackaging of Curt Hawkins had gone previously. He turned out to be nothing more than a jobber in his return and hopefully, Emma would not be the same.

#4 New Day pursuing record

New Day defend their titles this week

New Day’s pursuit of Demolition’s record has been a major storyline in the Tag Team division. New Day are set to break the record if they manage to defend their title successfully on Raw but they will be facing the challenge from both the teams of Cesaro & Sheamus as well as Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows.

With so much buildup behind this title streak of New Day, the chances of New Day dropping the gold to either of the teams are unlikely. However, a title change will bring huge ratings for the show and if WWE wants this, New Day could fall just minutes short of breaking the record.

#3 Building the Iron Woman match

Charlotte got the upper hand last week

Charlotte and Sasha Banks will go head to head in an Iron Man match at Roadblock. The fans will be gifted 30 minutes of some action packed wrestling at the show, but before the show, WWE will be responsible for building up the match on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

The involvement of Ric Flair and the way in which Charlotte turned on her father had elevated the whole angle. The slap became a talking point and WWE might take it one step further this week. Sasha is clearly on the back foot and this week could be about Sasha settling the scores.

#2 The Enzo Amore fallout

Enzo Amore and Lana were involved in a non-PG segment last week. WWE took a big deviation from their regular PG trend and it drew mixed reactions from the fans. One portion of the fans supported the whole thing while the others fully criticised it.

Either way, the storyline between Enzo and Rusev now has heat which WWE could capitalise on.

Fans will be curious to know the fallout and WWE will be giving them just that. Big Cass will be getting a bigger role this time around as this angle could be about him getting over Rusev.

#1 Cracks in the Jericho – Owens friendship

Jericho and Owens could have a meltdown

Cracks in the relationship between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens are showing up once again. Last week, they had a confrontation and with Owens set to defend his title against Roman Reigns at Roadblock, whether or not he reconciles with Jericho would be important.

At the same time, the Jericho – Seth Rollins situation is a good subplot.

Either Rollins or Reigns could act as a catalyst to breaking the Jericho – Owens relationship and if WWE does intend to do it just one week before Roadblock, the matches at the pay-per-view get some natural buildup. Also, a feud between Owens and Jericho could be on the horizon.
