WWE News: Triple H reveals how NXT Superstars train to be "bulletproof"

Triple H has had his fair share of injuries

Ahead of Saturday's monumental NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff event, I had the chance to speak with Triple H about TakeOver and, more specifically, NXT UK's weekly programming - asking if NXT UK may follow NXT onto broadcast television at some point.

Alex Roberts of Joe.co.uk took the opportunity to ask The Game just how Superstars protect themselves from injuries when they're on such a strenuous, heavy-duty schedule.

Superstars need to be bulletproof, in their best physical shape. The injury rate in professional wrestling is high, and you’ll never be able to avoid it 100% - but this is best method for keeping them safe.

The Game highlighted one man, Sean Hayes, who has been overseeing WWE's fitness programmes in the US, and now in the UK, too.

We have strength and conditioning coaches overseeing everything. All our programmes are overseen by Sean Hayes in the US, but he now plans gym programming in the UK too.

(Hayes is a close ally of Joe DeFranco, personal trainer to Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon. Training with DeFranco's helped Triple H himself overcome a series of shoulder injury setbacks, to the point where he even became bigger and stronger as a result)

Triple H went on to expand on how it's more difficult than ever to keep wrestlers in the best possible physical condition due to how demanding the industry has become.

As the business evolves, and it becomes more demanding for us to get the guys in peak physical condition.

You can catch NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff this weekend at 7 pm BST, and NXT UK weekly on the WWE Network at 8 pm BST.
