WWE: The Shield recruits John Cena as their new partner on Raw

John Cena is the new member of The Shield

Two months ago after the SmackDown tapings went off the air, John Cena joined forces with The Shield to face-off against The Wyatt Family and Kane in an eight-man tag team battle. Back then, Seth Rollins was still a part of The Shield and Cena had The Usos as part time partners in his bouts against The Wyatt Family.

Fast forward yourselves to yesterday’s Monday Night Raw episode and we have Cena teaming up with The Shield to face the Wyatt’s.

The match was dominated mostly by The Shield as Dean Ambrose and Erick Rowan started things off. Ambrose and Roman reigns looked in perfect shape throughout the match. Beearing an eye injury, Cena tried his best at the end when he came flying in from the top rope only to receive a Sister Abigail by Wyatt.

Reigns however nailed Wyatt with a Superman Punch. Ambrose with a suicide dive to Rowan. Later Cena took it to Harper but harper recovered quickly and turned around into Reigns who delivered a spear to get the pinfall.

The match was watched closely by The Game and Seth Rollins from backstage. However, with Seth Rollins out of the picture and The Shield-a comprehensive force as they are, Cena may eventually turn out to be the new member of The Shield.

How far will Cena go against The Evolution remains to be seen. And Cena uniting with The Shield only to fight the Wyatt’s is also a question that remains to be answered as the storyline unfolds on WWE.
