It is personal - Austin Rivers expects 'fireworks' when Chris Paul faces Clippers
"They say don't take it personal, but everybody does," says Austin Rivers on Chris Paul's move to the Houston Rockets.
New Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul has made it clear he is not going to miss Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers next season.
Now Rivers' son — and incumbent Clippers guard — Austin believes things have become personal.
"Business and basketball are two different things," Austin Rivers told TMZ.
"They say don't take it personal, but everybody does."
The NBA is yet to release its schedule for 2017-18, but it is pretty clear that Paul and the Clippers will be circling dates, much the way the Oklahoma City Thunder and their jilted fans did this season with newly signed Golden State Warrior Kevin Durant.
Paul, who had indicated his desire to leave the Clippers last month, opted in to the final year of his contract in Los Angeles in order to facilitate his blockbuster trade to the Rockets.
"You saw what happened when the Warriors played the Thunder this year - there was a lot of emotion in there," Rivers added.
"I don't think it'll be quite like that, but it'll definitely be a lot of fireworks that game if I had to take a guess."
