James Matthew Huff is a professional basketball player who as of December 2024, plays in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies as a center. Huff played his college basketball for the Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team, which represents the University of Virginia in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He started his freshman season playing 12 games for the Cavaliers shooting 68.0 percent from the floor and 28.6 percent from 3-point range. As a sophomore, he played 34 games, averaging 4.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game. Huff also helped the Cavaliers lift their first NCAA championship in 2019. He played 101 games in his collegiate career, averaging 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game. Huff was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team in his final year of college.

Huff went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft; however, he joined the Washington Wizards before being waived by them. He later signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. As of December 4, 2024, he has played 53 games in his NBA career, scoring 274 points, grabbing 88 rebounds, and dishing out 30 assists.
