James Matthew Huff is an American professional basketball player and as of December 2024, Huff plays center for the Memphis Grizzlies. He attended the University of Virginia and joined the Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team, where he played from 2017 to 2021. He was redshirted in his first season with the Cavaliers and finished his collegiate career with an average of 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game over 101 games. According to his college profile, he chose Virginia for the coaching staff and strength and conditioning coach Mike Curtis. At first, Huff declared for the 2020 NBA draft but returned to his college for his senior season on August 1, 2020. He won the NCAA Championship in 2019 and was named to the Second-Team All-ACC and the ACC All-Defensive Team both in 2021. After the 2020-2021 season, he declared for the 2021 NBA Draft.

Huff remained undrafted in that draft and later joined the Washington Wizards for the 2021 NBA Summer League. Over his NBA career, he has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards, the Denver Nuggets, and their NBA G League teams before joining the Grizzlies on July 24, 2024. Huff was named the NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year and the NBA G League Blocks Leader in 2023. In 2021, he was named to the Second-Team All-ACC and the ACC All-Defensive Team.
