Joseph Mazzulla is a professional basketball coach from Johnston, Rhode Island. He is currently the head coach for the Boston Celtics. Mazzula comes from an athletic family as his father, Dan Mazzulla, was also a basketball coach and a professional player back in the day.

He was also a talented player in high school and college. Mazzulla won three consecutive state titles for Bishop Hendricken High School.

Mazzulla’s coaching journey started with Glenville State University, where he was an assistant coach. In 2016, Mazzulla was hired by G-League team Maine Red Claws. He served as the assistant coach for that season, after which he was named head coach of Fairmont State.

In 2019, Mazzulla finally made it into the NBA, serving as the assistant coach of the Boston Celtics. After Ime Udoka’s suspension, Mazzulla was named the team’s interim head coach. He was promoted to head coach last season, and under his guidance, the Celtics finished second in the East and lost in the Conference Finals. He recently signed a multi-year contract with the Boston Celtics.
