The New York Knicks' guard-forward, Mikal Bridges, was born on August 30, 1996. The Philadelphia 76ers selected him with the 10th pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft, but he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. He attended Great Valley High School, where he finished his high school career with 1,340 points and 511 rebounds. In June 2013, he joined Villanova University and played in 116 games throughout his three seasons, starting 73 of them and averaging 11.3 points, 1.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. He received the Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017 and went on to win two NCAA titles in 2016 and 2018.
Bridges was selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team for 2022. But the Brooklyn Nets signed him the next season in February 2023, and later, he was traded to the Knicks in July 2024. Since being picked, he is also known as "the Warden" because he has participated in every NBA game, setting the record for the most games played in a row. He has participated in 474 games throughout his seven NBA seasons, starting 407 of them, and averaged 14.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds.
