Shai Gilgeous-Alexander; full name, Shaivonte Aician Gilgeous-Alexander; is a professional basketball player who plays point/shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder as of March 2025. He was drafted as the 11th overall pick in the first round by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA Draft. However, Gilgeous-Alexander was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers on the same night. After playing 82 games in his rookie season, Gilgeous-Alexander was traded with the Thunder and brought Paul George to the LA Clippers. He played 70 games in his first season (2019-2020) with the Thunders and averaged 19.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Gilgeous-Alexander suffered from injuries in his second season (2020-21) with the Thunder and was only featured in 35 games. He averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. After a similar performance in the 2021-22 season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took his game to the next level in the 2022-23 season where he averaged 31.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, shooting 51.0% from the field on 20.3 field-goals attempts. Gilgeous-Alexander made his first All-Star and All-NBA first-team appearance in the 2022-23 season. He made his second consecutive appearance in the All-NBA first team and was named an All-Star.
