According to German newspaper Bild, Formula One team Lotus is all set to sign Nico Hulkenberg as their driver for the 2014 season.
The reports suggested that the deal could be done within a day or two and if it fails to materialize the team will be looking to bring Williams driver Pastor Maldonado as Kimi Raikkonen’s replacement.
Maldonado, who has failed to find the limelight with Williams, will be more than ready for a move to Lotus. Also Lotus reportedly finalized a deal with Quantum – formerly Infinity, a group of private investors, which will see the group buy 35 percentage shares of the team.
The new deal will also give the team a boosted budget of more than EUR 200 million for 2014.
