Alvaro Morata on his Atletico Madrid move

Alvaro Morata ended his nightmare at Chelsea to return to his boyhood club, Atletico Madrid in January. The Spaniard has joined on an 18-month loan deal with an option to make it permanent in the summer of 2020.

Talking to AS, Morata said, “I made many small sacrifices to come to this club. There will be some (fans) who are annoyed with me but my teammates know the choices I have made to be here.”

“My priority now is on the pitch, to focus on winning every game and every competition – we know it is not out of the question that we win both domestically and in Europe this season. Competition for places? I am not worried if we play with three or four strikers, on who comes in or out of the team as long as we are getting the results we should be.”

“There is a lot of talk in the press over who starts but it is often the case that a striker who comes late on has special qualities and the ability to win games. We all know the situation we are in and all the players are motivated to bring success to this club,” added the striker.

Cristiano Ronaldo has left a huge void at Real Madrid and he is now set to make it an even bigger one. The Portuguese star has asked Juventus to sign three Real Madrid players in the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Marcelo, Raphael Varane and Luka Modric are his picks as per the report. The Brazilian left-back has been linked with the Turin side for a year now while Varane is seen as a long-term replacement for Bonucci and/or Chiellini.

Modric, meanwhile, is seen as the perfect player to play the 'Pirlo role' at the club and help in making their attack even more dangerous.
