After having a disastrous 2015-16 season where they completed the worst title defence ever in the Premier League, Chelsea were one of the first to reveal their home kit in an attempt to begin afresh in a season which will see them not taking in Champions League football.

Under new manager Antonio Conte, the Blues will be hoping to rejuvenate their performances and aim to win the Premier League for the fifth time. Chelsea have already made some smart buys this summer with French enforcer N’Golo Kante coming in from Leicester City. They have also added the likes of Michy Batshuayi to bolster their attack and brought back Victor Moses and Juan Cuadrado to give them the necessary depth in midfield.

Home kit

The Chelsea Home Kit is manufactured by Adidas and is in Chelsea’s classic blue colour. The V-shaped collar is white and there are Chelsea lions printed all over the front of the shirt. The blue shirt is paired with blue shorts and traditional white socks.

Following the Euro 2016 trend, Adidas have adopted the iconic three stripes on the sides of the shirt instead of the shoulders which, though giving it a simpler look, would take some time for fans to get used to. The shirt sponsor Yokohama Tyres is placed in white on the front with a red logo. The Adidas sign and the Chelsea crest are placed on the right and left sides of the chest respectively.

Chelsea recently terminated their £30 million a year kit sponsorship contract with Adidas six years early to compete with the big boys in Europe. With this being the last Adidas kit Chelsea will wear, you should absolutely get your hands on them and keep it as a memorabilia of Chelsea’s hugely successful partnership with Adidas.

Away kit

For the new away kit, Chelsea have adopted an unfamiliar design with an unusual fabric in grey and black with luminous yellow trims. The Chelsea website, after releasing the away kit, described it as a “striking new design [which] combines engineered mélange stripe fabric in grey and black with neon yellow accents, short shoulder stripes, a two-colour crest and an engineered collar tape featuring ‘Chelsea FC’ text.”

The away kit is similar to the grey away kit worn by Germany in Euro 2016.

Third kit

The Chelsea third kit boasts a simplistic design and is a reversal of their home kit. It is all white with blue trims on the collar. Adidas stripes run through the sides in blue in a similar fashion to that of the home kit. While the black third kit last season featured a modern and bold gradient design, Chelsea go more simple this time around as they bid farewell to Adidas as their kit sponsor.
