They were in it for a fair while, but the Falcons ended up falling short eventually. It was their power-packed middle-lower order that kept them in the hunt; with the required rate breaching 20 with 3 overs remaining, the Dunabogdany CC bowlers still weren't able to relax and breeze through to the 10 overs. The contest, mathematically, went into the final over, after which the game fizzled out.

Having lost their openers right away, the Falcons were in a fix. Abhijith Jayakumar and Sheharyar Arif then went on to stitch a stabilizing partnership, which just about kept them in the contest. The Falcons batters kept going even as wickets fell in regular intervals.

With Jayakumar out there, they were in the hunt, as the Falcons number 3 completed a fine half century in pursuit of going for the improbable. They needed close to six sixes in the final over, though, and the game was killed in the first ball of it itself.
