Commentary
Hello and welcome back folks to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the 1st Test between England and Pakistan! We were in for quite a few surprises yesterday, especially considering the visitors managed to add a whole lot of runs after being reduced 176-5. Post that, Pakistan were vindicated in their decision to keep faith in Shadab Khan's batting abilities while Shan Masood kept plugging away on his merry way. Consequently, they managed to get themselves up to 326 on a track that started playing tricks once the visitors came out to bowl.

On the other hand, England were left questioning their ploy to play five specialist batsmen, once Mohammad Abbas and Shaheen Shah Afridi wreaked havoc with the new cherry. The latter swung the ball prodigiously while the former was at his sumptuous best - chipping away on a good line and length before landing the decisive punch, something that Ben Stokes fell victim to.

Post that, Pakistan also managed to get rid of Joe Root, meaning that they are firmly in strife, despite Jos Buttler and Ollie Pope producing a relatively decent rear-guard action towards the end of the day. All things said though, Pakistan do seem to be the team in the ascendancy and while it seemed perhaps ludicrous 20 hours ago to contemplate England playing catch up, it could morph into reality, especially if England wilt under the visitors' pressure at the start of the day.

Though one would expect the Three Lions to chalk out a fair chunk of the arrears and establish a foothold, one reckons they would have their hands full with Messrs. Abbas, Naseem and Shaheen hunting in packs.

I am Shashwat Kumar and I will shortly be joined by Momin Butt and the two of us will take you through everything that unfolds in the opening session! Do stay tuned to what promises to be another enthralling session of hard-fought Test cricket!
An absorbing day of Test cricket comes to an end as England slowly crawl to 92/4 in 28 overs in pursuit of reaching 326 runs set by Pakistan and possibly take an 80-90 runs crucial lead as they have to bat fourth in the Test match.

The session was off to a brisk start as England quickly skittled out Pakistan under 14 runs. Then came the opening bowling pair of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Abbas who absolutely wrecked the English batsmen and their inning early-on. Shaheen Afridi scalped Rory Burns in the first over whereas England's Achilles heel in the last series Mohammad Abbas sent off Dom Sibley and Ben Stokes in quick succession.

Skipper Joe Root never looked comfortable in the middle and departed after edging an outside off delivery from leg spinner Yasir Shah to the keeper Rizwan who took a safe catch.

Ollie Pope has so far looked the only English batsman who has shown the resolve to apply himself. Pakistan will be pleased with their performance and will be looking to knock out the remaining wickets of the hosts at the lowest score possible. Both ollie and Buttler are the last line of defence of English side if they are to eek out any lead from this position.

That's that from me Abhinav Singh and my partner Shahswat Kumar, but do join us again at 3:30 PM tomorrow for all the live-action. A riveting and moving Day-3 coming your way! Stay safe, stay indoors, and Good Night! Cheers fellas!
27.6 Yasir Shah to Jos Buttler, back of a length delivery well outside off and left alone by Buttler.

And, that will be that for Day 2!
27.5 Yasir Shah to Ollie Pope, full delivery on leg stump and clipped away to deep square leg for a single.
27.4 Yasir Shah to Ollie Pope, full delivery on off stump and Pope skips down the track before driving down the ground, hitting the stumps at the bowler's end in the process. Yasir has a faint appeal for a run out and we go upstairs. Buttler is well within his crease though.
One slip and short leg in place for Ollie Pope who is unbeaten on 45
27.3 Yasir Shah to Ollie Pope, back of a length delivery outside off stump and Pope punches that one into the off side. Seems a little fidgety here!
27.2 Yasir Shah to Ollie Pope, full delivery outside off stump and nudged towards the fielder at cover.
27.1 Yasir Shah to Ollie Pope, back of a length delivery on middle and leg and defended into the on side by Pope. Really pushed pope back into the crease!
A no-nonsense over from Shaheen Afridi as he gives away only a single. Pope and Buttler battling it out in the dying minutes of the day. England 91/4 at the end of 26 overs! Possibly the last over of the day coming up!
26.6 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Jos Buttler, slower delivery on a back of a length outside off and Buttler watches that one onto his bat
26.5 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Jos Buttler, full delivery at the stumps and driven straight back to the bowler. Buttler didn't quite get that off the middle though.
26.4 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Ollie Pope, back of a length delivery on off stump and tapped into the off side before Pope gets across for a quick single. Pope has been busy in the middle! Keeping Pakistan fielders on toes!
It's getting darker in the middle, reckon how long will the umpires continue
26.3 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Ollie Pope, length delivery on off stump as Pope comes forward and defends with the full face of the bat
26.2 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Ollie Pope, length delivery from wide of the crease and the angle takes the ball across the batsman as Pope lets that one go
26.1 Shaheen Shah Afridi to Ollie Pope, full delivery way outside off stump and Pope resists the temptation to throw his hands at it
A productive over for England this time around as seven runs came off it. Buttler plays Yasir better here and is looking much more confident. England 90/4 after 26 overs, Shaheen Afridi to continue from over the wicket!
25.6 Yasir Shah to Jos Buttler, length delivery on off stump that spins away from Buttler as he extravagantly leaves it
25.5 Yasir Shah to Jos Buttler, short delivery outside off again and this time, Buttler cuts it behind square to pick up a brace
