Brandon Aiyuk is an American Football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. The 6 ft wideout was taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft by the 49ers with their 25th overall pick. The California native has been second-team All-Pro once (2023) in his four seasons as a Niner. He was ranked 10th by various executives, scouts and coaches for the top 10 wide receivers survey done by ESPN in July 2024. Aiyuk attended Robert McQueen High School in Reno, Nevada. Aiyuk played multiple roles for the football team during his high school days. This included wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. In his senior year, he earned first-team All-Northern Nevada and honorable mention All-State honors.

His statistics have improved every season since entering the league in 2020. He took off immediately in his rookie season as he managed to collect 748 yards through air even though he played only 12 games that year, due to being placed on reserve/Covid-19 list. He finished his sophomore season with 826 receiving yards. The 2022 season was where he crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the first time as he caught 78 receptions for 1,015 yards. His best year came in 2023, where he led the team in receiving yards (1,342) while putting up career-best numbers. By the end of 2023 season, Aiyuk had managed to accumulate more than 3,900 receiving yards, along with 25 touchdowns. Aiyuk’s scintillating on-field performance landed him a 4-year contract extension with San Francisco in 2024.

Aiyuk attended Sierra College before transferring to Arizona State University. Aiyuk started his college football journey at Sierra College in the 2016 season. In his freshman year, he garnered recognition as All-NorCal Conference, showcasing impressive stats with 29 catches for 573 yards and five touchdowns.

In the 2017 season, his sophomore year, Aiyuk earned Junior College All-American status after a standout performance. He managed to amass 60 receptions for 960 yards and 14 touchdowns. His versatility extended to the special team showcased by his returning kickoffs and punts for additional scores. He concluded his junior college career with 2,499 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns, earning him First-Team All-NorCal Conference and All-State honors.

He opted to transfer to Arizona State University for the remainder of his NCAA eligibility. Aiyuk chose the Sun Devils over other offers due to their commitment to utilizing him as a wide receiver. It was a role he preferred over being exclusively a return specialist or potentially transitioning to defense.

In the 2018 season, Aiyuk, in his first year with the Sun Devils, made 33 catches for 474 yards. He accumulated three touchdowns while contributing 381 total return yards.

During the 2019 season, Aiyuk received preseason recognition as a third-team All-Pac-12 Conference. He earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after a stellar performance against Washington State. The Wide receiver amassed 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His versatility was evident as he also claimed the conference Special Teams Player of the Week title. This was for his contributions in kickoff and punt returns against Oregon State. Aiyuk concluded the season with impressive stats: 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns, along with notable returns. He was honored as first-team All-Pac-12 both as a wide receiver and a return specialist.
