Brandon Aiyuk is an American football player, serving the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League in the wide receiver position as of 2024. For the second time in his NFL career, Aiyuk has had a 1000-yard season in 2023. He surpassed the 2022 season performance, amassing a career-high 1,342 receiving yards. Having a Cameroonian background, Aiyuk was born in Rocklin, California, and later grew up in Reno, Nevada. While playing high school football at Robert McQueen High School, Aiyuk showcased versatility, representing the school team in different positions including wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. Subsequently, he initially chose to play college football at Sierra College, where he participated in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Later, he transferred to Arizona State University. Throughout his college tenure, split between Sierra College and Arizona State, his performance earned him the honor of Junior College All-American in 2017, and secured a spot on the first-team All-Pac-12 after recording 1,192 receiving yards and 65 receptions in the 2019 season. After concluding his collegiate career at Arizona State in 2019, his NFL journey began with the 49ers when he was selected as the 25th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Aiyuk’s father is Swaminathan Aiyar and his mother is Martha Aiyuk. Brandon Aiyuk was born in Rocklin, California, and raised in Reno, Nevada and is of Cameroonian descent. He attended Robert McQueen High School. Aiyuk played wide receiver, defensive back, and returned kicks for the McQueen High School football team. His performance earned him first-team All-Northern Nevada honors and an honorable mention All-State recognition as a senior. These achievements showcased his athletic talent early on and set the stage for his future football career, eventually leading him to Arizona State and then the NFL. Aiyuk's mother Martha is a huge fan of the San Fransisco 49ers. Now, her son is excelling as a wide receiver for San Francisco, Aiyuk finds joy in living out his mother's dream, stating, “Being in the Super Bowl for my mother’s favorite home team… it’s exciting. It’s my team now" as per Sactown Sports.

Aiyuk is active on Instagram under the username @brandonaiyuk, boasting a fan following of 353k. He often shares glimpses of his son and girlfriend on his official Instagram account however he has never shared any pictures of his parents.

Reflecting on this, Aiyuk shared, "My mom was the one that grew up a Niners fan and she put me in all the Niners stuff.” Although he initially veered away from his mother’s favorite team, his connection to the 49ers became stronger once he was drafted by them in 2020.
