The Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz was born on July 11, 1996, in Sandy, Utah. Shultz attended Bingham High School in South Jordan, where he played football and basketball for the Miners athletic teams. In his senior year, he caught 31 passes for 512 yards, scoring nine touchdowns. Schultz had a slow start to his football career, where he had 76 receptions for 1.120 yards in all. In 2014, Schultz committed to play his college football for the Stanford Cardinal.

Schultz didn’t see any piece of action in his freshman year being redshirted. Coming into his sophomore season, he played in all 13 games; playing at the same time as Christian McCaffery and Bryce Love. He was also mentioned in the All-Pac-12 honours. In the 2017 season, he was mostly used as a blocker, playing in 13 games. He was named in the All-Pac-12 First-team that year. In the 2018 NFL Draft, he got selected by the Dallas Cowboys as the #137 pick in the fourth round, and after playing for five seasons, he made the shift for the Texans in March 2024, with a three-year deal.
