The Washington Commanders selected him with the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. In his debut game in week 1 of the 2022 NFL season, he caught three passes for 40 yards and scored touchdowns. He was named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for his performance that week in 2022. In Week 15 of that season, after catching 4 passes for 105 yards and scoring a touchdown he was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week, once again.
