James Cook is a running back who has been playing for the Buffalo Bills franchise in the NFL since 2022. In the 2022 NFL season, Cook was used mostly as a backup to Devin Singletary. Cook was made the primary running back before the start of the 2023 NFL season. He has had a great year with 1,122 rushing yards and 445 yards as a receiver for the Bills.
Cook was born in Miami, Florida, on September 25, 1999. The 24-year-old is the younger brother of another NFL star running back by the name of Dalvin Cook. Older brother Dalvin has recently signed with the Baltimore Ravens after the conclusion of the 2023 regular season. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Cook is trying to carve out his path in the NFL.

James Cook attended the University of Georgia from 2018-2021, he majored in Housing Management & Policy. After finishing his high school, Cook had offers from Louisville and Florida. However, he decided to pursue the University of Georgia, where he played for the Georgia Bulldogs for the next four years. In particular, Cook played in nearly all of his team’s games in his four years of college, however, he wasn’t the team’s starting running back. In 2018 and 2019, his freshman and sophomore years, Cook only had two rushing touchdowns both years and 284 and 188 rushing yards, respectively.
In his junior year, Cook received a little more game time and rushed for 303 yards while also getting involved more as a receiver from the backfield, putting up 225 yards in the air. His senior year in 2021 was by far his best year, as he rushed for 728 yards and caught 27 passes for 284 yards. He also had 7 rushing and 4 receiving touchdowns in his final year of college.

James Cook's High School
Growing up in Miami, James Cook went to Miami Central High School in West Little River, Florida. He had a decent freshman year, rushing for just over 700 yards with eight touchdowns on the ground in 99 attempts. Before his sophomore year started, Cook took extra courses and reclassified to a junior. His senior year was quite similar to his freshman year, as he rushed for over 750 yards and added 10 rushing touchdowns. Overall, he finished his high school career with 2,019 yards and 30 touchdowns.
