Jared Goff

American football quarterback Jared Thomas Goff plays for the Detroit Lions as of September 2024. He was a first-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Goff had a rookie year he wouldn't want to remember as he failed to register a win in his seven appearances. He became a regular starter the following year finishing with a record of 11-4 in 2017. After five seasons and 69 appearances for the Raiders, Goff was traded to the Detroit Lions in 2021. He completed 332 passes throwing for 3,245 yards in his debut year with the Lions. In his 121 appearances in the NFL, Goff has completed 2,745 passes for 31,444 yards. He is a three-time Pro Bowl and also led the league for attempted passes (626) in 2019.

Growing up in California, Goff attended Marin Catholic High School. He finished his high school career with 7,687 combined yards and 93 touchdowns from 2010-2012. Goff committed to his home state University of California in 2013. He earned an honourable mention All-Pac-12 honours in his freshman year. Goff is also the only quarterback in his college history to start a season-opener as a freshman. In the 37 games he appeared in his college, Goff completed 977 passes for 12,200 yards having 96 touchdowns. He also earned First-team All-Pac 12 in 2015.

Jared Goff has missed very little time due to injury since his draft. He suffered a bruise on the back in his rookie year however it wasn't serious. Except for the back injury, Goff has fractured his finger and has had a strain in recent years for his injury report. Jared Goff hurt his tailbone in the third preseason game. The injury wasn’t serious and the quarterback returned to play the fourth game. Goff also suffered a minor head cranial concussion in the same season.

Hand Thumb Fracture (2020)

Goff fractured his thumb in the Week 16 game against the Seahawks in the 2020 season. He had to watch the Rams’ season finale from the sidelines due to the injury.

Abdomen Muscle Strain Grade 2 (2021)

In his debut year with the Detroit Lions, he had an Abdomen Muscle Strain of grade 2 against the Steelers in Week 10. The quarterback missed three regular-season games that year due to injury and being on the COVID-19 reserve list.
