What is Lamar Jackson's 40 time?

The Baltimore Ravens are arguably the best team in the NFL currently and their most valuable player is without a doubt Lamar Jackson. After a win against two of the top teams in the NFL, Jackson is quite frankly a lock to win another MVP award this year. The only concern going forward is, can Jackson lead the Ravens to the Super Bowl? Jackson has had a history of disappearing in the playoffs and has not yet taken his team to the finals in his career. However, in the 2023 season, things have looked different.

The Ravens are currently 13-3 which is currently the best record in the NFL and to add to that, Jackson is having a career year and has thrown the football for 3678 yards which is his best so far in his six-year career. Jackson was selected as the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft from the University of Louisville. Jackson has also stated that his mother is his mentor and has watched him every step of the way.

Throughout his career, Jackson has faced doubters and skeptics that have questioned his ability to succeed in the league. However, he has surpassed all of the expectations and has evolved into a unique and talented quarterback. He is a dual-threat quarterback who can both pass the ball and run with it when he is required to. It was during Jackson’s sophomore year that he won one of the most prestigious awards in college football which was the Heisman Trophy. It was then that the NFL scouts and coaches took notice of Jackson and his extraordinary ability.

Some critics even wanted Jackson to play as a wide receiver in the NFL rather than a quarterback. This was both disrespectful and a complement at the same time. While everybody took notice of his running game, many pundits thought that he was better off being a receiver than a quarterback. Jackson’s high school coach Rick Swain had previously said “If you don’t try to land him on your team, you will regret it in the future.” Swain continued “He is the most dynamic quarterback that I have ever been around. He is tremendous and his accuracy is a lot better than they gave him credit for.”

Teams that passed up on Jackson must be regretting quite a lot now since they passed up on him in the 2018 NFL draft. He was the last quarterback to be picked in the first round but it does not matter as Jackson has proven himself to be one of the best in the league.

Jackson never ran the official 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine as many wanted Jackson to convert to a wide receiver. Jackson decided to only throw the football and refused to take part in any of the speed drills at the Combine. However, unofficially, Jackson clocked his 40-yard dash at 4.34 seconds at Louisville’s “Speed Day.”

Jackson’s unofficial time would have technically been the second-best 40-yard dash time of all time. However, his critics denied many of Jackson’s fans the opportunity to watch the absolute showdown he potentially could have posted.
