RJ Harvey is a former collegiate running back who represented the Virginia Cavaliers and UCF Knights from 2019 to 2024. Notably, Harvey was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the 60th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Orlando, Florida native finished his secondary education at Edgewater High School where he played as a quarterback and was 21-5 as a starting signal caller for his high school football team, as per University of Central Florida Athletics. Harvey was tutored by head coach Cameron Duke during his high school tenure, as per University of Central Florida Athletics. The 5-ft-8 running back was awarded a production score of 86 by Next Gen Stats, which ranked 3rd among all running backs at the 2025 NFL Combine, as recorded by the official NFL website.
Revisiting his collegiate career, RJ Harvey played 41 games for the Knights from 2020 to 2024. The University of Central Florida product started his post-high school football career at the University of Virginia in 2019. However, he stayed there for only one year during which he did not see any playing time due to him being at the lower end of the quarterback depth chart. After transferring to Central Florida, Harvey converted to running back and tallied nearly 3800 rushing yards during his time as a Knight. Harvey was awarded a grade of 85.1 for his 2024 season production by Pro Football Focus (PFF).
