Former American professional football player Shannon Sharpe was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 26th, 1968. Widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Sharpe showcased exceptional skill and achieved numerous records and honors over an awe-inspiring career of 14 years. Over this time period, he primarily played for the Denver Broncos.

Sharpe’s journey to stardom in the NFL began when he was selected as a very low draft pick in the 7th round of the NFL draft in 1990. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos. He later joined Skip Bayless on a debate show named “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed.”

In 2023, Shannon Sharpe announced his departure from “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed” after agreeing to a buyout with Fox Sports. As of now, Shannon is back as an analyst but with rival ESPN on their hit show 'First Take' where he debates alongside Stephen A. Smith and others.

Are Shannon Sharpe and Lebron James Friends?

While Lebron James and Shannon Sharpe are not related, they share a good friendship. The two have shown great backing for each other on multiple occasions. Sharpe has come to be synonymous with defending Lebron on the “Undisputed,” often referring to him as the greatest basketball player ever.

Their support for each other was also evidenced during the playoffs of the 2022 NBA season where Sharpe got into a fight with Ja Morant’s father during a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies. Post the incident, Lebron had positive comments about Sharpe and even said “I ride with Shannon 365 days — 366 on a leap year — 24/7. So that’s my guy. I always got his back. And he’s got mine.
