Travis Hunter was a cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, as of 2023-2025 College football season. Travis Hunter started his journey at Collins Hill High School, where he played as both cornerback and wide receiver for the Eagles. Hunter compiled a 36-17 record in four years with the school and made 272 receptions for 3,963 yards and 48 touchdowns. He was rated the No.1 prospect in the country in the 2022 recruiting class. Following his prep career, Hunter received offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech among others.
Travis Hunter embarked on his collegiate journey with Jackson State in 2022 and played in eight games as a true freshman. He earned SWAC Freshman of the Year and was named a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award which is given to the top freshman athlete. After one year with the Tigers, Hunter transferred to Colorado in 2023 with three years of eligibility remaining. In 2023 as a sophomore, Hunter was honored with the Paul Hornung Award as the nation's most versatile player. In 2024, he made 92 receptions for 1,152 yards with 14 receiving touchdowns.
