When the Jacksonville Jaguars finished dead last in the 2020 NFL season they had major problems to deal with. Winning only the first game of the year and then going on to lose all of the remaining games meant that they had an abysmal 1-15 record. However, with the emergence of Trevor Lawrence in the NFL draft for 2021, the Jaguars received a huge boost in their journey towards the top once again. Up until then, Lawrence had some exceptional performances ever since his high school days and the general consensus around him was that he would go on to do great things in the NFL as well.

Lawrence was immediately named the starter of the team and he took charge of the offense from the very first game of the season. There was a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he was touted as the next big thing in the game and was the leader of a team that was in shambles. Needless to say, the first season just saw a slight improvement from 2020, as the Jaguars finished with a 3-14 record.

2022 however was to be a different story. Even though they struggled in the first half of the season, the team bounced back remarkably winning the last 6 of their 7 games and clinching the AFC South division title along the way. As more and more will be expected from Trevor in 2023 and the years to come, it’s only befitting that we discover his past and how he has gotten to where he is today.

Where was Trevor Lawrence born?

The Jaguars’ tall 6 foot 6 inch signal caller was born to Jeremy and Amanda Lawrence in the city Knoxville, Tennessee. He is the second son of the Lawrence’s and was born on October 6, 1999. His older brother, Chase is a very talented artist while he also has a younger sister, Olivia who is still in school and pursuing volleyball.

Despite his birth being in Tennessee, Trevor’s parents decided to shift the family to Cartersville, Georgia as his father had to relocate there on account of his job. That meant that most of Trevor’s upbringing was done in Cartersville as they shifted there just before Trevor’s sixth birthday.

Lawrence then attended Cartersville High School where he would have an amazing four years of football where he easily eclipsed 10,000 passing yards and more than 100 passing touchdowns. Winning two state championships with his school, Lawrence was set to have an even better college career.

Trevor Lawrence’s College

Graduating from high school, Trevor Lawrence had multiple offers from Universities but he liked what Clemson presented to him. He was bowled over by their sincerity in why they thought Clemson would be the ideal fit for him. At Clemson, Trevor slowly took over the starting quarterback’s role in his freshman year itself and went on to lead the Tigers to three very productive years. He reached the pinnacle of his accomplishments in his freshman year by winning the College Football Playoff National Championship and being named the resulting game MVP. As many more accolades continued to fall to him, Lawrence had made his presence known to all of those who were watching.

The journey of the young man does not stop here though, as the ultimate prize in this sport is the Lombardi trophy that comes after winning the Super Bowl. If Lawrence can play to his potential and if he gets the right pieces around him, that day may not be far away for Trevor.
