Bryce Young shifted to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California for his final two years at high school. He really bloomed into an explosive dual-threat quarterback during his time at Mater Dei. He helped Mater Dei to a Championship in his first year there. By his senior year at Mater Dei High School, Bryce was identified as the top dual-threat quarterback at the high school level by 24/7 Sports and ESPN. He was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas where he earned Offensive MVP honors and All-American Bowl Player of the Year honors. He threw for 4,528 yards and 58 touchdowns as a senior, earning him the Los Angeles Times Player of the Year and California's Gatorade Football Player of the Year awards. He was also named the top offensive player in high school by USA Today.


As a senior year player at Mater Dei High School, Bryce Young was the highest-ranked quarterback in the recruiting class. He had initially planned to stay in California and committed to the University of California for college football. However, he de-committed from USC and decided to join the famed Alabama Crimson Tides football programme.

Bryce Young joined the University of Alabama in 2020 as a backup to current New England Patriots’ quarterback Mac Jones. He made his college debut against Missouri late in the third quarter on September 26, 2020. In his freshman year at college, he played a total of 9 games in his freshman year and totalled 156 passing yards and 1 touchdown pass.


Bryce Young became the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tides in his sophomore year. He made his debut as one of football's upcoming biggest stars during this campaign. In 15 games, he passed for an astounding 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns. His final year with the Crimson Tide was his junior year. His outstanding performance persisted at the offensive hub of the group. In 12 games, he passed for 3,328 yards and 32 touchdowns. That season, he also ran for 185 yards and four touchdowns.
