The Undertaker is without a doubt one of the most iconic superstars of all-time in WWE. The Deadman is known all around the world, and his career has spanned more than three decades. There is nobody like The Undertaker, it is unlikely there will be anyone quite like him in the future.

The Undertaker has faced many of the all-time greats the industry has to offer, even facing many up-and-comers throughout his career. Surprisingly, during his thirty-year career, there were some elite opponents The Undertaker never faced one-on-one.

That being said, let's take a look at five wrestlers The Undertaker never faced one-on-one inside the squared circle.

#5. The Undertaker vs. Eddie Guerrero

The Undertaker crossed paths with Eddie Guerrero just a handful of times during his career. The main match was the Fatal 4-Way WWE Championship at SmackDown's Armageddon pay-per-view in 2004 which also featured JBL and Booker T. They faced each other four times one-on-one on a run of house shows in August 2005, with The Undertaker winning all four matches.

Tragically, Eddie passed away at the age of 38 in 2005, and the dream match never became a reality on TV. Imagine The Deadman and his gimmick against the man who loves to lie, cheat and steal. The feud itself would have been epic. Both men are regarded as two of the best of their time, and it is sad that we didn't get to see them lock horns one-on-one.

The match itself would have been WrestleMania worthy, that would have the WWE Universe on the edge of their seats. We doubt Eddie would have been the one to end the streak, but we would have loved every minute of him trying to find a way to beat The Undertaker.

Sasha Banks, who idolizes Eddie Guerrero, spoke to WWE India about 'Latino Heat':

"Watching him on WWE was the reason why I wanted to be a WWE Superstar. He is everything that just made me connect to this world and made me find myself as a person and gave me my sole purpose in my career. I thank Eddie Guerrero for everything. He really laid the foundation for what I think a wrestler should be to the WWE and to the world. He is incredible. He is the best," Sasha Banks said. (h/t ewrestling)

Sadly, we missed a lot of Eddie classics that would have made us fall in love with him even more. The match against The Undertaker is up there as one that we would have loved to see on our screens.

#4. The Undertaker vs. Dusty Rhodes

We can only imagine what it would have been like if The Undertaker and 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes had collided in the ring one-on-one. Unfortunately, it was all about timing as to why these two legendary stars never faced each other.

Dusty Rhodes, despite wrestling for multiple promotions such as the NWA and WCW, only stayed in WWE for a short time. It meant that The Deadman and Dream were only in the same locker room for a cup of coffee. Had Dusty been in WWE much longer, he most certainly would have been pitted against The Phenom eventually.

The Undertaker has been in the ring with Dusty's sons Goldust and Cody Rhodes before. He faced Goldust multiple times in 1996 and Cody in the Royal Rumble match in 2008.

Cody discussed crossing paths with The Undertaker with Inside The Ropes in January 2020:

"I go over and I hit this man as hard as I’ve hit anyone in the back of the head. I felt him stop. [He does the slow head turn]. I’m the bad guy now. I’m [backing away]. All of a sudden he goozles me. I think I’m going up. He says, ‘kick me in the knee.’ I kick him in the knee, he lets his hand go. And he goes, ‘dropkick me.’ I jump up, dropkick him, he takes a bump! You can see, I didn’t know what to do," Cody Rhodes said. (h/t TalkSPORT)

Cody continued:

"The goal is to get the guy out of the match, but I’m not going to pick him up. So I just go over to the corner and start fake punching somebody. But man, after that, Taker was God to me. Everything about this guy is about giving back. He absolutely did not need to do that. Plus, I stiffed the hell out of him. I love The Undertaker," Cody Rhodes said. (h/t TalkSPORT)

The Undertaker vs. Dusty Rhodes would have been another legendary WrestleMania worthy match. In reality, we probably should have gotten it in the early '90s but circumstances didn't allow it. Long live The Dream.

#3. The Undertaker vs. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins coming up against The Undertaker would be a modern day classic. We've seen Rollins in the ring with legends like Brock Lesnar, Triple H and Randy Orton and he turns it on every single time.

The Undertaker was all about giving back, and he has done that over the years, especially during the later days of his career. After all, he put Roman Reigns over in the main event of WrestleMania 33 with 'The Big Dog' claiming his yard.

Seth Rollins could have been one of those stars that The Undertaker could have really given the rub. We can already picture The Undertaker going for the Tombstone Pildriver, only for Rollins to counter it and deliver a Stomp.

Seth Rollins spoke with WWE's The Bump about his interactions with The Undertaker in October 2020:

"They’ve always been super awkward, mostly because he’s terrifying. I don’t know if any of you have sat with him, but he’s just a normal Southern boy, but he’s still The Undertaker. To me, I’m not going to be that kid who dressed up as The Undertaker when I was four-years-old. To be able to have conversations with him, to be able to be in the ring with him, work with him, learn from him, is incredible. Anytime you get 30 years in one industry, you know, you’re a master classman. Yeah, I wish I had fun experiences with ‘Taker, but I’ve always been afraid of him," Seth Rollins said. (h/t TalkSPORT)

Of course, Rollins has shared the ring with The Undertaker before during his days with The Shield, but we never got to see that one-on-one match. It certainly ranks high on The Undertaker's Dream Matches list.

#2. The Undertaker vs. Daniel Bryan

Another modern day dream match for The Undertaker we'd love to see. Daniel Bryan would need the YES! Movement on his side to overcome The Deadman but what a classic it would be. After all, Bryan has some ties to Taker, as he often teamed up with his brother Kane in Team Hell No.

The match almost happened. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported in 2014 that The Undertaker had requested to work with Bryan. He was quoted saying:

"It is said that Undertaker asked to work with him at Mania this year, and such a match would at least have the turn make sense," Dave Meltzer said. (h/t Cageside Seats)

Again, similar to the Dusty Rhodes scenerio, it was all about timing. In 2014, Daniel Bryan was the hottest he had ever been and fans wanted him to be the world champion in the main event. Of course, that year, Taker's WrestleMania streak came to an end when he lost to Brock Lesnar.

We would have absolutely loved to have seen these two square off. The submissions themselves would have got us on the edge of our seats, as both men have signature holds. A spectacle that would have gone down in the history books, that's for sure.

#1. The Undertaker vs. Sting

Sting in WWE

The Undertaker dream match everyone has been clamoring for for years. WWE legend vs. WCW legend. It was one of the most talked about and most anticipated matches that never happened.

When Sting joined the WWE, there was hope that the match could finally happen, but it sadly did not materialize. It remains on the wishlist and dream match list of most wrestling fans around the world.

The Undertaker told Barstool Sports about the idea of the match:

"I mean, being completely honest, at this point, it would have been cool in the 90s. Even, it would have been cool in the early 2000s. But there’s a reason why the last ride came about and I’ve called it a day. Although I have it here, and I have it in my heart to do, my body just doesn’t cooperate with the other two factors in that. So it becomes really difficult. I just don’t want people to get a watered-down version of that character," The Undertaker said. (h/t Essentially Sports)

An interesting fact, The Undertaker and Sting have competed against each other before, long before their times in WWE and WCW. The Undertaker was named Mean Mark during this run, prior to becoming The Deadman we know and love today. It was a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship where Sting walked out as the champion.

Would the same have happened if they were to square off with their larger-than-life gimmicks? I guess we'll never know.
