Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are all set to battle at WWE Royal Rumble 2022. The two will battle for the Universal Championship in St. Louis.

The Visionary and The Head of the Table were part of a stable called The Shield. The trio made its debut at Survivor Series 2012. Since disbanding the Shield due to Rollins' betrayal, Roman and Seth have collided several times.

Roman Reigns became the record for longest reigning Universal Championship, surpassing Brock Lesnar's reign of 503 days. He has gone through the whole roster and has beat all of them. But his reign has to end one day. If Seth Rollins doesn't end it, who will be the next contender to dethrone Roman Reigns for his title?

Here's a list of superstars who could dethrone Roman Reigns if Seth Rollins doesn't.

#5. WWE's Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns faced each other at Survivor Series 2020, where Roman beat Drew with the help of the low blow and Jey Uso. It was a great storyline where Drew McIntyre had the backing of the WWE Universe.

Drew beating Roman makes perfect sense as he also dethroned Brock Lesnar. Drew survived 29 men in the Rumble match, earned the title opportunity, chose Brock as his challenger, and emerged victorious. McIntyre's credibility as a champion was proven after beating Lesnar.

Drew's title reign was successful and defied all odds by defending it every time. During his reign, Drew defended his title against Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Goldberg, and Bobby Lashley. His reign included hard-fought battles and dedicated promos.

McIntyre has evinced his worth as a champion and, therefore, it's likely possible for him to dethrone Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

#4. Kevin Owens becomes 2-time WWE Universal Champion

WWE's Tribal Chief and Kevin Owens faced each other three times in 2021. In all instances, Reigns won. These matches saw Owens not giving up.

Kevin Owens was a great champion in NXT and carried it for 142 days. Owens was the second-ever WWE Universal Champion. Despite being a good champion, his reign ended quickly. His previous reign certifies how good of a champion he has been.

He has the potential to become a great champion. Owens dethroning Reigns is a great opportunity for the company to create another megastar.

#3. Jey Uso dominates The Tribal Chief

Jey Uso is one of the biggest underdogs in WWE. His performance in tag team matches is a delight to watch. Jey Uso has been a part of The Bloodline with his brother Jimmy and cousin Roman Reigns. Jey & Jimmy Uso are currently the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

In 2020, Jey faced Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Clash of Champions and Hell in a Cell. After Jey's defeat in both of these matches, he had to eventually fall in line with Roman Reigns. If Jey manages to win the Rumble match and challenges Reigns for the title, it will be the greatest underdog win in the company after Daniel Bryan.

During Jey's feud with Reigns, he was called the Main Event Uso as he was showcasing his singles talent. WWE already recognizes Jey Uso's potential as a main event star, and if WWE pushes him as a babyface, he'll easily be a contender for the championship and can dethrone Roman Reigns.

#2. The Beast becomes WWE's Double Champion

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar were SmackDown's biggest draws during their October 2021 feud. Their storyline was magnificent after Lesnar returned at SummerSlam 2021 to confront Reigns. Lesnar faced Roman at Crown Jewel 2021 but failed to win the title.

The two were booked for a title match at WWE Day 1, but Reigns was unable to compete due to illness, and the bout didn't take place. However, Lesnar won the WWE Championship after getting inserted in the Fatal-4-Way main event at Day 1.

WWE Universe already knows Brock Lesnar's worth. He has been one of the most protected stars in WWE. He's already a nine-time world champion.

After the match between Roman and Brock at Day 1 was scrapped, The Beast Incarnate insisted on Reigns for a Champion vs. Champion Match. It'll be great to see a Winner Takes All Match and Brock becoming a double champion.

#1. The Rock dethrones The Head of the Table

Roman Reigns has been WWE Universal Champion for a long time, proclaiming himself The Head of the Table. There has been speculation about The Rock returning for over a year now. The People's Champion has not been seen in the company since October 2019 during FOX's SmackDown debut.

The Rock and Roman are real-life cousins. Samoans have a long history in WWE. The Rock helped Roman during the 2015 Royal Rumble to win the match. Reigns constantly calling himself The Head of the Table can ignite a family feud between him and The Rock. He has also been troubling cousins Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso.

Fans have been waiting for a hero to take the title from the egoistic villain. The Rock defeating Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the main event of WrestleMania 38 will be the biggest blockbuster of the decade.
