AEW All Out: 5 Botches and mistakes you missed as part of the show

All Out was riddled with botches
All Out was riddled with botches

AEW presented one of their biggest shows to date last night as All Out took over Chicago just hours after WWE had presented an incredible NXT UK show live from Cardiff.

There were a number of matches throughout the night that had major implications on their first live TNT show on October 2nd, with many superstars competing for the right to be part of Championship matches on that show.

Jon Moxley's recent injury meant that he wasn't able to be part of the show so he was replaced by former WWE star Pac, who went on to have a fantastic match against Kenny Omega. Cody Rhodes and Shawn Spears were able to fix their personal vendetta when they went one-on-one and Hangman Page collided with Chris Jericho in an effort to crown the first-ever AEW World Champion.

It was a stacked night of entertainment, but much like their main competition in WWE, there were a number of botches in some of the most shocking matches.

#5 Pac's reverse hurricanrana

Jon Moxley announced on Twitter earlier in the week that he would be unable to compete against Kenny Omega at All Out since he had suffered a shocking case of MRSA in his elbow and was forced to undergo surgery.

AEW had merely a week to find a potential replacement for Moxley and interestingly it was former Cruiserweight Champion Neville who stepped up to face Kenny Omega under his Pac persona. Despite there being very little build to the match it became one of the matches of the night even though there was a shocking botch mid-way through.

Both Omega and Pac went for reverse hurricanrana's in the match but were unable to deliver, but fortunately, neither man suffered an injury because of the botch and Pac was able to go on to defeat Omega with The Brutaliser.

#4 Name botch

Darby Allin was given the wrong name at All Out

One of the biggest matches as part of the show last night pitted Jimmy Havoc up against Darby Allin and Joey Janela in a cracker barrel challenge match which allowed all three men to unleash a new side of their sadistic personas.

Havoc was taped to a chair and then had thumbtacks forced in his mouth, whilst Janella missed a moonsault on the outside and Allin performed a Coffin Drop with a barrel onto the steel steps. It was a match that was full of action and included a number of shocking spots but it was the entrance to the match that has become one of the biggest talking points.

Darby Allin was the star who made his way to the ring first and was then followed by Jimmy Havoc, but it appears that the technical team were not aware of the order that the stars would come out in since Allin made his way to the ring but the name read Jimmy Havoc.

Of course, this is just a small botch compared to the other botches on this list, but it's one that should have been corrected before the show went to air.

#3 Jungle Boy couldn't save the spot

Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy and Marco Stunt took on SCU stars Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky to open the main show last night at AEW All Out. Luchasaurus stole the show when he was able to show off some of the moves that allowed him to make his name, whilst Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt showed some innovative offensive for two men of their size.

The only downfall of the match was when Scorpio Sky and Jungle Boy were having a back and forth and it was made clear that Jungle Boy couldn't hold the older man's weight. The two men tumbled in the middle of the ring whilst the commentary team tried to cover the botch by saying that it was about Scorpio being the bigger guy, but it was obvious that this was a botch.

Interestingly, even though they were the underdogs heading into the match, the much smaller and younger trio were able to pick up the victory in this opening six-man tag team match which was able to set the tone for the entire show, which definitely delivered.

#2 Nick goes through a table

The Young Bucks took on The Lucha Bros in a fantastic Escalera De La Muerte match for the AAA Tag Team Championships as part of All Out but there was an insane botch in the middle of the match that could have injured Nick Jackson.

The match was one of the highlights of the night and saw a number of table and ladder high spots including a fantastic Canadian Destroyer through a table from the top of a ladder. Even though some of the most dangerous spots were well protected throughout, there was one spot that was pretty simple and caused the most problems.

Nick Jackson was at the top of the ladder and it was then pushed over by Rey Fenix as he sent Jackson to the outside and through the two tables. The spot should have been straight forward, but the ladder was too far over which meant that Nick ended up getting his feet caught up on the ropes and falling through just one of the tables.

It was clearly seen that Nick cut his hand open as part of the spot and he completely missed the second table that was lined up which he was also expected to go through.

#1 Hangman Page's kick didn't hit

Chris Jericho is the first-ever AEW World Champion

Chris Jericho and Hangman Page collided in the main event of All Out to crown the first-ever AEW World Champion. Throughout the match, there were a number of scrappy moments that could easily be seen as botches as well as a few definite botches before Jericho was crowned the first-ever Champion.

One of the biggest botches came mid-match when Adam Page delivered a kick to Jericho over the ropes, a kick the was miles away from him but Y2J till bumped the kick and acted as though it did hit him.

Another huge botch came a few minutes before when Adam Page hit Jericho with a discus punch just above the eye and took him down. The referee then headed over to Jericho and was seen reaching into her pocket, pulling out the blade and throwing it onto the mat so that she could push it over to him.

Jericho then rolled to the outside and when the cameras later caught up with him he was covered in blood. It was quite obvious that Jericho bladed so that Page looked to have got revenge for what Jericho did to him at Fight for the Fallen.
