A WWE Superstar has been included in the upcoming 2024 Draft pool despite not having made his main roster debut since last year's edition. Odyssey Jones was drafted to WWE RAW last year and he still awaits his first match.
The 29-year-old signed with the Stamford-based company in 2019. He debuted in NXT the same year before getting sidelined for nine months due to a knee injury in 2022. Jones was drafted to RAW in 2023. However, he has yet to appear on the red brand.
Despite not making it to WWE television after moving to the main roster, it was earlier revealed that Jones would be included in the 2024 Draft pool. According to recent reports from Fightful, he worked dark matches on Smackdown and appeared in WWE Speed tapings recently. These might be the reasons behind his surprise inclusion.
Former WWE Superstar wanted to recruit Odyssey Jones to his faction
AJ Francis (fka Top Dolla) was released from WWE in September 2023. The TNA star recently made an interesting claim about Odyssey Jones.
During his time in WWE, Top Dolla was part of The Hit Row. The faction also featured Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott, Ashante 'Thee' Adonis, and B-Fab. All the stable members were released from the wrestling promotion in 2021. The group returned to the company the following year without Scott, who joined AEW and is the current AEW World Champion.
While speaking with Muscle Man Malcolm, Francis explained he wanted to add muscle to the faction and that's why he wanted Odyssey to join. He further claimed that he had pitched the idea to the others as well.
"I even talked about adding Omari, Odyssey Jones, to Hit Row. As like muscle, you know what I’m saying? I’m already muscle but like... like Suge Knight. I look like Suge Knight. Suge Knight rolled around with 20 Mexican Bloods. That’s a real thing he would do. Yeah, he could whoop people’s a** but he would have hitters with him. So that’s not a crazy thing. The inclusion of Odyssey Jones in the 2024 Draft pool surprised several fans, especially following the recent releases. It will be interesting to see what plans the company has for the current RAW superstar.
