Why CM Punk and Daniel Bryan joining hands is best for business

Hell in a Cell saw a major landscape change in the WWE as most of the storylines took unexpected diversions. CM Punk apparently ended his long running feud with Paul Heyman with that memorable beating at the top of the cell while Daniel Bryan was kicked out of the WWE title scene with sweet chin music.

Saving it for the best

Need of a refreshing new storyline, both of the men were attacked by the twisted Wyatt family on next night’s Raw which laid foundation for two of the most popular baby-faces in the company to join hands. On various dimensions this was one of the wisest decisions made by the creative team in recent feature as it opens the door for a great buildup for the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania.

For starters, with the Survivor Series approaching, the company was in desperate need for a marquee traditional elimination match. And what better way to pull it off than to throwing in the creepy guys against the Indie darlings. The match is almost set with the recent happenings on Raw and SmackDown and the only question remaining being who will be added to complete the teams, which is not our concern at the moment so let it be.

All part of the push

So with the Survivor Series main Event ticked in the list, what follows is a big push for Bray Wyatt and his creepy family. Wyatt’s development has been hampered by injury recently and a big stage like Survivor Series with the lights of Punk and Bryan is all he needs to make his gimmick flourish further inside the ring and off it. It will be interesting to see how he will be projected after the Survivor Series and there are chances of a possible short feud with either Bryan or Punk.

And another superstar who will be benefited by the new union is none other than the “top heel” of the company, Randy Orton. His much anticipated heel turn hasn’t produced the magic that was expected and has resulted in the fall of his credibility. Orton won the title with a weak cashing in then followed up with a loss against Bryan and a draw in Battleground. Hell in a Cell saw him get the title only because of a cheap shot which has left Orton in the dark. With Bryan out of the equation and new feud with Big Show, the time is right for Orton to gain back the top heel status and show everyone that he deserves it which will be quite instrumental in WrestleMania.

Time to get the credibility back

But above all, what the company will be doing is to keep their most precious baby faces busy for some months so they could face each other in a face vs. face epic encounter in the future. Or at the same time they could be saving a CM Punk vs. Randy Orton and John Cena vs. Bryan or Triple H vs. Bryan for WrestleMania since it’s pretty much clear that both Cena and Orton are going to retain the titles till then without ample competition. However, the first possibility will be the most intriguing as Punk and Bryan have a lot of history waiting to burst out. The unpredictability factor with these two facing off will also add spice to the match and give us an incredible match to cherish in the memories.

Indie history

All said, the WWE seems to be getting back on track at the right moment as WrestleMania draws near. And as the company works on a year round basis, all that happens will be a sub story of what is going to be culminated at the grandest stage of them all. As the mysteries unfold it’ll be made clearer that the move to make Punk and Bryan was the best one for business.
