WWE RAW - Best and Worst - Drew McIntyre teams up with Goldberg, Big mistake with Edge

Goldberg and Drew McIntyre opened the show the right way
Goldberg and Drew McIntyre opened the show the right way

This week's episode of WWE RAW was not an easy watch, and this comes from a guy who feels blessed every day that he has to watch wrestling to earn his living.

There were high spots during the course of WWE RAW for sure, but honestly, it's hard to believe that this brand and SmackDown are products of the same company because one show breezes by while the other just lumbers on and on and on.

As always, do remember that this review is the opinion of one person, and your own WWE RAW experience may be drastically different from what this reviewer or anyone else in the comments section feels, so you are welcome to share your thoughts and views.

Are you hyped for the Royal Rumble after WWE RAW?

#1 Best: WWE RAW opens with Drew McIntyre delivering an important message about COVID-19

It is very easy to forget that the men and women on WWE RAW are human as well, behind their larger than life personas. WWE had refused to acknowledge the pandemic until recently, when the World Champion Drew McIntyre tested positive for it, and we're glad to report that he's back in the fix, healthy as ever.

Not only did Drew McIntyre make his battle with Covid-19 public knowledge, he dedicated his match with Goldberg to everyone affected by the virus. And before he cut this promo on WWE RAW, he also opened up about his recent diagnosis in an SK Wrestling exclusive, that you can check out by clicking the link below.

It was incredibly cool to see Drew McIntyre and Goldberg teaming up on WWE RAW against The Miz and John Morrison.

A spear, a claymore, and bam...the heels go down and how!

#1 Worst: Was it necessary for Edge to cut a promo on WWE RAW and announce that he would be a part of the Royal Rumble?

Edge officially made his WWE RAW return this week, as he appeared in a backstage promo and let the world know that he would be a part of the Royal Rumble match.

Even though the world is in the midst of the most turbulent times in this century right now, every wrestling fan agrees that the high point of last year, before everything shut down was Edge returning at the Royal Rumble.

The fact that he returned on WWE RAW to let us know that he would be in the Royal Rumble took away what could have been a terrific moment for those at home. We have also learned that on WWE Backstage, we'll learn who'll be Number 1 and 2 in the women's Royal Rumble match and Number 30 in the men's match.

Edge returning to WWE RAW and his promo were both great, but the announcement wasn't.

#2 Best: R-Truth continues to remain the best thing about WWE RAW every single week

R-Truth continues to remain the funniest thing about WWE RAW every single week. He was the perfect antithesis to The Hurt Business, a faction comprising of people who are suave, sophisticated, and serious. The idea of them throwing a surprise party for him is absolutely ridiculous, but he's probably the only person on the planet who can make it work. Moreover, his interactions with Riddle backstage are pretty funny too.

Let's face it. The whole WWE 24/7 Championship picture on WWE RAW is not happening at all because it's the same thing every single week. And it's a shame that Tucker turned heel on Otis just to enter this picture.

That said, R-Truth continues to breathe new life into WWE RAW and offer much needed comic relief during the show because, as has been stressed before, it is not always the easiest program to watch. Maybe Riddle and R-Truth can, in time, start their own RAW talk show or something.

#2 Worst: Why is The Hurt Business, the most dominant WWE RAW faction, teasing a split?

The decision to have The Hurt Business squabble on WWE RAW has not gone down well with fans, many of whom love the idea of this faction. Unlike RETRIBUTION, The Hurt Business has been booked well from the outset to the point where they are extremely over with the crowd, despite the fact that they are heels. But the moment everything was going well for the group, the company has decided to showcase dissent in the ranks.

Yes, the idea of Riddle running the gauntlet on WWE RAW was not bad at all, but it happened at the expense of The Hurt Business, which is a confusing decision.

Does the company want Cedric Alexander to go babyface and branch off on his own, away from The Hurt Business? While that may be a good way to push him on WWE RAW, remember that he only started looking like a megastar once he joined the faction. He's not going to become The Rock, away from the Nation of Domination, if that's indeed the plan.

#3 Best/Worst: Should Alexa Bliss have won the WWE RAW Women's Championship this week?

Kudos to the WWE RAW creative team for bridging the gap between the usual match we're used to, as sports entertainment fans, and the cinematic match with Alexa Bliss.

Not only did Alexa Bliss go from the Firefly Funhouse persona to her dark Gothic gimmick during the course of the WWE RAW main event, but there was also a point in time where she even reverted to the Goddess character, to the surprise and amazement of one and all.

Even though what happened with Randy Orton at the end of WWE RAW makes a lot of sense, one has to wonder if Alexa Bliss should have become the WWE RAW Women's Champion, considering the kind of momentum she has.
