In 2019, Siakam signed a maximum contract extension with Toronto worth $130 million for four years. Right now, he's in the third year of his contract, earning $35 million this season. After the 2023-24 season, the one-time All-Star will be an unrestricted free agent, as the Raptors didn't extend his contract till the start of the season.

Looking at his stats, he has a good argument on why he should have been considered an All-Star this season. He's averaging 24.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists for the Raptors this season.

However, one reason why he wasn't included in the All-Star team could be Toronto's place in the East. They have a 25-29 record, which puts them in tenth place in the Eastern Conference. That could've been a crucial part of why the coaches didn't consider Siakam an All-Star player this season.

He could still be included to participate in Utah, though. It has been reported that Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets will miss the festivities on February 19.
