Stats: Test wicket-keepers with most stumpings

MS Dhoni (wicket-keeper)

Here is a list of wicket-keepers with the most number of stumpings in the history of Test cricket. Indian captain MS Dhoni is at the 4th spot, with 37 such dismissals to his name, and is only 1 short of levelling Syed Kirmani, a former Indian glovesman.

Bert Oldfield, who has represented Australia in 54 Test matches during his 17 years of international cricket from 1920 to 1937, is at the top of the list with 52 stumpings. With India not playing any Test match in subcontinental conditions till 2015 World Cup, where spinners come into play and in turn stumpings, as well, and Dhoni on the wrong side of 30s, it is difficult to see him compete for the top spot.

With the exception of Sri Lankan wicket-keeper Prasanna Jayawardene, whose career has hit a roadblock as a result of injuries, all the other players in the list have retired.
