Tottenham complete Adebayor signing

Tottenham have completed the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City for a reported transfer fee of 5 million pounds.

The Togolese player had spent last season on loan with the Londoners and impressed by scoring 18 goals for them. The permanent transfer was held up though due to the player’s wage demands.

At City the striker earned 170,000 pounds a week in wages but has now accepted a package of 100,000 at Spurs and also a signing-on fee of 4 million pounds.

Tottenham are relieved to see the deal go through, with Jermain Defoe the sole striker in the squad until now.

Meanwhile Spurs defender Sebastian Bassong has left for Norwich in a transfer worth 5.5 million pounds. The arrival of Jan Vertonghen increased competition for places in the defensive back-line, and the key reason for Bassong’s decision to leave.

Inter and A.C Milan in swap deal for strikers

Inter and A.C Milan are set to complete a swap deal with Antonio Cassano joining Inter and Giampolo Pazzini moving to A.C Milan.

Milan will also pay Inter 7 million for Pazzini. The deal is almost complete with Inter’s medical team already clearing Cassano, despite concerns arising from his heart surgery earlier this year.

Henriquez set for United switch

Strikers continue to rule today’s transfer news as Chilean sensation Angelo Henriquez is set to complete his move to Old Trafford after receiving a work permit.

The transfer, worth 3.5 million pounds, was agreed some time back but United were unsure about his availability, due to permit issues. But with that being resolved, Henrique is set to play his last match for Universidad on Wednesday.

Man City bid for Sinclair, Johnson set to leave

Manchester City have made a reported 6 million pound bid for Swansea’s Scott Sinclair, with a further 2 million in add-ons.

The winger has just a year left on his contract with Swansea and has expressed his desire. City’s offer is likely to be accepted and the Welsh club are already targeting Valencia’s Pablo Hernandez as Sinclair’s replacement.

Sinclair’s arrival will mean Adam Johnson’s exit from City, with the player set to move to Sunderland, in a deal worth 11 million pounds.

The winger has also been targeted earlier by Liverpool and Arsenal, and his exit seems imminent.
