nathan redmond

The 2016/17 edition of the Premier League could be the most exciting season we have ever had. With the arrival of new managers, many players are expected to up their performances. Managers of top clubs have also brought in top class players who have made team selection even harder for the FPL players.

The players' value on FPL are decided on the basis of points they can give and hence players like Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, etc are rated above £10.0m. Top players have very high rating and with a budget of only £100m, FPL managers are forced to pick cheap players.

Many people have the perception that poor players only have a cheap rating, but we are here to prove you wrong. Here are Top 5 players rated at or under £6m who could fetch you some points on FPL.

P.S: We have not included any goalkeepers as no one is rated at £6.0m or above.

5. Nathan Redmond - £6.0m

Redmond was bought by Southampton from Norwich for a fee of £12 Million. The young English winger was bought by the Saints as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who left for Liverpool.

New Southampton manager Claudio Puel sees a lot of potential in Redmond and the winger is expected to perform well under the Frenchman.

The 22-year-old scored six and assisted four goals for Norwich, who got relegated, last season. That is a really good stat considering the fact that Norwich were poor last season. The young winger is rated at £6.0m on FPL and could be a big bargain for such a small amount.

4. Yannick Bolasie - £6.0m

It is almost certain that Yannick Bolasie will join Merseyside club Everton, for a fee of £30 Million. The Congo International has been a key player for Crystal Palace since the 2013/14 season and now he is hoping to go a step further with Everton.

Bolasie scored five and assisted three last season for Crystal Palace. The 27-year-old was even better in the 2013/14 season when he scored four and assisted twelve for his club.Ronald Koeman will be managing Everton this season and is expected to improve the team a lot. Bolasie is expected to be a key part of Koeman's plans for this season.

We all saw how the Dutchman made use of Sadio Mane at Southampton, similarly, Bolasie will be having a big part to play for Everton. The winger is rated at £6.0m and is owned by only 5.8% of the FPL players. Bolasie could be a big bargain on FPL this season.

3. Bojan Krkic - £6.0m

bojan krkic

Despite suffering several injuries, The Spanish attacker was a crucial player for Stoke last season. The 25-year-old will be looking to do the same for the Potter's this season too.

The youngster scored seven goals and assisted two for his club last season. Stoke does not have a consistent goalscoring striker and if they fail to find one, there are chances that Bojan might be played upfront by Mark Hughes.

The attacker is rated at £6.0m on FPL and could be a great bargain buy this season. The former Barcelona man is a man to watch out for on FPL.

2. John Terry - £5.5m

As most top defenders come at a price of 6 or above, we have gone for a defender below 6 who could be a bargain on FPL. Former Italy manager, Antonio Conte, will be Chelsea's manager this season and the Blues are expected to go straight back into the title race under the Italian.

One thing Conte is mainly known for is his defensive tactics. The 47-year-old usually opts for a three-man defense and makes sure that it is solid and stable. Chelsea already have some of the best defenders in the League and John Terry is one of them. The 35-year-old is one of the best defenders England and Chelsea have ever had.

Even though defenders like Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic and Kurt Zouma are there in the Chelsea squad, John Terry is expected to be a constant starter for the Blues. With Conte as their manager, you can surely expect a lot of clean sheets from Chelsea.

Even though Terry is 35 years old he is still an aerial threat and you can also expect a few goals from the Chelsea captain. John Terry is rated at £5.5m on FPL and will be a great pick for your team as he is going to be the pivotal part of a solid Chelsea defense this season.

1. Ilkay Gundogan - £5.5m

ilkay gundogan

Ilkay Gundogan is the only player on the list who is new to the Premier League. The German International was Pep Guardiola's first signing as the Manchester City manager. Pep Guardiola clearly knows the former Borussia Dortmund player from his Bayern Munich days and he considers Gundogan as a world class player.

Gundogan was a transfer target of many other clubs like Bayern Munich but the 25-year-old chose Manchester City as his choice of destination. Gundogan is expected to replace Yaya Toure(who looks like is not in Guardiola's plans) in City's Line-Up and will have a huge responsibility on his shoulders.

It is pretty certain that Gundogan is a key part of Pep's plans for next season.

The German's last season with Borussia Dortmund was marred with injuries but still the Midfielder managed to put up good performances for the club. Gundogan is currently on the sidelines and is expected to be back only in September.

The dynamic player will be looking to return from injury as soon as possible and regain full momentum. Gundogan was bought by City for a fee of only 21 Million which is very low for a player of his level. The German is also rated low on FPL (£5.5m), but he is expected to have a big impact on Manchester City's performances this season.

There are also several other good players like Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Jese Lingard, N'Golo Kante, Vincent Kompany, etc who are rated at or under £6.0m on FPL but failed to make the list.

We wish all FPL players the very best for the upcoming season.
