WWE Monday Night Raw: 22 September, 2014 - Superstar Ratings

The flagship weekly shows after a pay-per-view has always managed to grab the attention of WWE Universe. However, this wasn’t the case with this week’s Raw.Still recovering from a below par outing at Night of Champions, the creative team of WWE tried to keep the fans engaged in the narrative when they bought Raw to Memphis. There weren’t much that came out of the show which erased everything WWE did on Sunday as Ambrose was the only high point throughout the night. The absence of Lesnar was there to be seen as the fans still didn’t know what the company has in store for the champion next. This week’s show exposed all WWE’s shortcomings and here is a look at how the Superstars performed.

#15 AJ Lee 6

After fending off both Paige and Nikki Bella on Sunday, AJ secured another win on Raw with the title around her waist. Paige’s presence in commentary means that the feud between the two is far from over which might be the right direction until WWE calls up Charlotte into the mix.

#14 Cesaro 6

Cesaro’s miseries continued to pile up on Raw when he was on the receiving side of another loss. As usual, Cesaro gave a good performance in the ring but a win still escapes him. Fans still wish to see him in the main event scene which might not be happening any time soon at this rate.

#13 Natalya 6

The purpose of the Natalya –Summer Rae match was to promote the Total Divas but it instead turned into an opportunity for Natalya to showcase her talent. She showed to the whole world that she should not be wasting time wrestling the lights of Summer as she clearly belongs in the title picture.

#12 Dust Brothers 6

The Dust Brothers got a surprise win on Sunday which made them the tag team champions. And it wasn’t a performance of ‘champions’ on Raw when they took a loss against their nearest competitors. Consistent performance was a face saver for the team that will now be looking to add some wins under their belt.

#11 The Miz 6.5

Miz has nothing to be sad about even after losing the championship. It was the best direction for his character that thrives on losing. Having Damien Sandow by his side is also making Miz more entertaining and with the chemistry he has with Ziggler, no one would frown if they see another match between the two.

#10 Mark Henry 6.5

Henry was gutsy and strong but could convert those traits into a victory. Two defeats in the span of two night has left Henry look less credible but there is still a story that the company could tell with these two men. Going back into the team with Show is another option for Henry and both ways, he is getting a good push for the time being.

#9 The Usos 6.5

The Usos continued their impressive run of solid matches on Raw. There is an urge from the former champions to get their title back and it is going to push them all the way through to the next match against the Dust Brothers.

#8 Jack Swagger 6.5

The writers literally wasted the momentum that Swagger was having during his feud with Rusev. Swagger looked like he was going places with this face run but that halted when Rusev exited the scene. Bo is a good temporary replacement but apart from that, this feud is almost dead.

#7 Kane 6.5

It was a typical outing for the big red monster as he was a supporting character who got overshadowed every time someone else took the stage. However, Kane is a superstar without which the story wouldn’t be complete and WWE should think about giving him a win every now and then.

#6 Rusev 7

Henry getting a rematch for the Night of champions showdown against Rusev was expected to be a face saver but instead, it was something to make Rusev look better. The Bulgarian Brute has another big win under his belt after Raw and will be looking for bigger things after this.

#5 Sheamus 7

The Celtic Warrior had a good outing at NOC and followed up it with a win on Raw. Cesaro still could be the No.1 contender for the championship and till WWE finds someone more suiting, Cesaro would be more than fitting to challenge the champion.

#4 Dolph Ziggler 7

Ziggler fans were heartbroken on Sunday when they saw him drop the title within a month of winning it. The broken heart was fixed back to normal on Raw on the next day as the Showoff dispatched Miz to get another chance to reign supreme as the Intercontinental champion.

#3 Randy Orton 8

Orton stood out with a class performance against Jericho on Sunday and it was a similar outing from the viper against Cena. The only thing that worked against Orton was the botched interferences and the fact of this being the 1274th time that the two faced off in between the ropes.

#2 John Cena - 8.5

After getting screwed by the Authority, another title shot for Cena is out of the books. He is moving forward to have a battle with Hunter and his pack until he gets his hand on Seth Rollins, which is exactly what Ambrose wants to do as well meaning these two friends could unite against a common enemy.

#1 Dean Ambrose 9

For the fans that missed out Night of Champions, Ambrose is back with all this madness. He was all around the show and came out being the highest point of the whole night. The friction and friendship that Ambrose has with Cena might give rise to a compelling feud that everyone would love to watch.
