WWE Monday Night Raw: 6 October 2014 - Superstar Ratings

WWE tried to hide their flaws in the October 6 edition of Monday Night Raw by bringing back the Rock. The effort seemed to be on target for some time but having segments well below the expectation levels might’ve backfired a bit.The first match for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view was booked and ensures an action packed contest between John Cena and Dean Ambrose. It was the only storyline that showed some progression on this week’s show as all the others suffered as usual. After all the show would go down in history as the night in which Rock made his surprise return, and here is a look at how the other superstars faired on the night with Superstar Ratings.

#15 Brie Bella 5

Bella was handicapped in her match against Summer Rae as she had her one hand tied behind her back. The idea was to put Brie in the same situation as Nikki and it served the purpose of pushing forward the narrative. Summer however turned out to be the biggest loser since she lost to a one armed opponent.

#14 Paige 5.5

Paige’s pursuit of the Divas championship got yet another big push after she got a win over AJ Lee. Though Emma was the one who got pinned, the win builds up Paige’s momentum further and her association with Alicia seems to be doing wonders as well.

#13 Mark Henry 5

Henry’s forgettable run continued in Brooklyn as he lost once again to the inspirational Bo Dallas. Henry showed hints of a heel turn which is what he needs at the moment and instead of stretching it too far, the company should pull the plug and make it happen soon.

#12 Damien Sandow 5.5

Sandow was supposed to be in the background of the Sheamus – Miz match. However, it was he who stole the show entirely and this gets Sandow a place in the Rankings while the people who wrestled in the ring is kept out due to the repetitive nature of their booking.

#11 Bo Dallas 5.5

Bo got his third win in a row over the World’s strongest man and this time it came thanks to a count out. It didn’t serve the purpose of being a short term success but the storyline between the two was progressed and could even get a spot in the hell in a cell pay-per-view.

#10 Cesaro 6

The bad news for Cesaro is that he is still on a losing streak. However, on the other hand, Cesaro is still hanging around Dolph Ziggler and in turn the Intercontinental championship. This is good for both Cesaro and the fans as they will be treated with some excellent matches.

#9 Dust Brothers 6

Being the tag team champions is doing no good for the momentum of Dust Brothers as they are picking up losses. WWE should try to give them more credible booking in the near future as losing often would be bad for the title reign and matches that they will have in weeks that is to come.

#8 Rusev 6

The Bulgarian Brute got on the wrong side of Rock on Raw but he simply was the biggest winner of the night. The company could’ve easily made use of Rock in an entirely different way to push someone else but Rusev got the pick which means that the writers have a lot of faith in him.

#7 Jack Swagger 6

Swagger got a date with Tyson Kidd at Brooklyn and came out with a win. Though the Real American was the winner, the angle was all about Kidd and Natalya which made it clear that Swagger was nothing more than a supporting character during the match.

#6 Dolph Ziggler 7

Ziggler didn’t have a spectacular week nor did he have a bad week. it was pretty average to be frank and would be happy with the win that he got. Cesaro seems to be the No.1 contender for the championship which is something that the showoff should worry about.

#5 The Usos 7

The easiest way to book the Usos currently would be to put them in a six man tag team match. This week’s Raw was no different for the former Tag Team champion as they combined with Ziggler to get one over the Dust Brothers and Cesaro.

#4 Seth Rollins 7

Rollins in just a short span of time has established himself as the top heel in WWE. This week was another big stride for the Architect as two of the top baby faces in WWE area just looking to get their hands on him. Hell in a Cell would prove to be a mess for Rollins as he would be taking centre stage in the whole pay-per-view.

#3 John Cena 7.5

The Cenation leader had his fair share of fun on Raw. He is travelling away from the WWE championship as each week pass by and getting more involved with Rollins and Ambrose. There is no chemistry of excitement on a feud between Rollins and Cena but Ambrose seems to be the perfect match for the Cenation leader.

#2 The Rock 7.5

Rock’s appearance on Raw completely got the fans off guard. The surprise factor made his return a big success and since it was against Rusev, it added more excitement. He might not be staying for a long time, but one appearance itself from Rock is a big boost for the company.

#1 Dean Ambrose 8

Ambrose continued his show stealing brilliance once again on Raw and this time it was with some mustard and sauce. It was one of the memorable moments of the night though it had some silliness but as things stands now, Ambrose is all set to be the real star of Hell in a Cell with the booking he got for the pay-per-view.
