The annual Money In The Bank pay-per-view was held for the fifth consecutive timeon June 29, 2014 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The PPV that was turning out to be the most anticipated event, failed to live up to its hyped expectations. It also marked the first time in WWE, that an MITB Ladder Match was held for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Here we take a look at what went wrong at the PPV in this list ofthe Top 5 most disappointing moments from thepay-per-view.

#1 John Cena wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The undisputed face of the WWE, John Cena walked home (yet again) with WWE World Heavyweight Title, much to the disappointment of hardcore WWE fans who were expecting to see a new face at the helm of the title reign.

Cena is undoubtedly the favourite with the WWE creative team, who made sure he is crowned the World Champion for the 15th time, in the absence of the former Champion, Daniel Bryan.

#2 Roman Reigns loses a well fought battle

Roman Reigns failed to win a hard fought encounter at Money In The Bank, thanks to Kane, who was The Authority’s henchman who made sure Reigns does not win the title at the PPV.

A probable Reigns victory could have revived his storyline with The Authority and possibly made things interesting for the future PPV’s. But, the next big thing was far away from the ending that many fans thought could have been possible- winning the titles at MITB.

#3 Dolph Ziggler denied a push yet again

Seth Rollins emerged as the winner of the second MITB Ladder Match, thanks to a helping hand from Kane. The Authority made sure the match turns out monotonous and predictable by giving Rollins an unfair advantage in the name of Kane.

But for Dolph Ziggler, who seemed to be a crowd favourite, the night ended in disappointment as he turned empty handed (yet again) and joined the list of the superstars whom the WWE is hesitant to push to the ranks of a title contender.

#4 WWE takes a step behind - Antonio Cesaro deprived of the spotlight

The saying ‘Talent can get you anywhere’ was proved wrong when Antonio Cesaro was again denied a potential push by the WWE.The Swiss sensation has been one of the uprising talents in the current roster and by far one of the best wrestlers in the current era.

However, his recent showings and dominating performances in the ring wasn’t acknowledged at MITB as WWE yet again pushed him behind into the shadows of poster faces like John Cena and Randy Orton.

#5 An Event that failed to live up to its expectations

MITB was touted to be the most anticipated event, thanks to Daniel Bryans injury,The Shield break-up and the two MITB Ladder Matches.

It was speculated that either Cesaro or Bray Wyatt would win the Title at the event, which did not happen.

The only positive outcome from the event is John Cenas victory. Cena is predicted toface Brock Lesnar at the SummerSlam PPV which makes for anexciting prospect.

Also, againstwho and when would Seth Rollins cash in the MITB contract is a question that could deliver an exciting answer.
