5 talking points of RAW this week

WWE Monday Night Raw Supershow Halloween Night

WWE RAW was live from New Jersey this week, and like every post WrestleMania RAW, this week too had its fair share of twists and turns. With several new storylines and feuds teased this week here are the 5 talking points of RAW.

1. Dolph Ziggler finally cashes in his MITB case

In case you missed RAW this week, Ziggler finally cashed in his MITB briefcase after having it for close to a year. Not only that his cash in turned out to be successful and Ziggler became the new World Heavyweight Champion. The question that remains now is whether this was the right time for Ziggler to cash in, or if it should have come earlier. I feel that it shouldn’t matter much because the cashing in was successful and Ziggler finally got to taste some much deserved gold. The moment was well savored by the crowd who made Ziggler’s victory look all the more incredible. For all those who feel Wrestlemania was a good moment for cashing in the New Jersey crowd just showed how wrong that would have been.

2. Ryback heel turn?

The end of RAW witnessed a shocking twist, as Ryback Shell Shocked Cena and seemingly turn heel. There were several Internet rumors that this was going to happen, especially since Ryback lost a lot of matches on pay-per-views. Now that Ryback has openly challenged Cena, it remains to be seen whether Ryback will turn heel completely, though for now it looks like the only possible scenario.

Also, pitching Ryback against Cena will give us a feud we haven’t seen before. Cena has wrestled all the top heels at least once, and hence Ryback will be a fresh contender for Cena to defeat in the future.

3. Where is Antonio Cesaro?

Does anyone remember the United States Champion Antonio Cesaro? I, for one, do remember him quite well, but unfortunately for him and the United States Championship, the WWE seems to care very less for both. When a champion doesn’t make it to an episode on RAW, one can quite clearly understand the lack of a storyline for him. Cesaro is a gem of a wrestler who is at the moment being wasted.

Let’s hope we get to see Cesaro next week on RAW with something worthy of the status both he and the United States title have earned.

4. Why did The Miz win the Intercontinental title at Wrestlemania?

WWE Monday Night Raw Supershow Halloween Night

The Wrestlemania pre-show saw the Intercontinental title change hands as the Miz defeated Wade Barrett. This week on RAW, 24 hours after the title victory, Miz lost the title as Barrett won it back. While I’m not against Barrett winning the title and am completely happy with it, the question that I feel WWE needs to answer is why Miz lost his title in such an early time. If the plan all the way was to make him lose the title, then why give him the title in the first place?

The only possible explanation that WWE could come up with is to maintain and give Miz his WrestleMania moment. Miz hasn’t lost a WrestleMania match yet, and hence the WWE didn’t want to ruin it. Unfortunately his loss at RAW this week made his WrestleMania victory completely insignificant.

5. Is Undertaker‘s Streak injustice to the Shield?

The Shield this week interrupted Undertaker’s post-WrestleMania speech, and Taker was saved from an ambush by Team Hell No. A 6-man tag match with Taker, Kane and Bryan vs the Shield looks highly likely at Extreme Rules, and this is one match that most people will look out for.

However, what is the reason behind the Shield attacking Taker? Is it their motto of providing justice to the WWE Universe or is the Shield working for Punk/Heyman. Punk could be looking to extract revenge after losing to Taker at Mania and he could be secretly using the Shield for this. Only time will tell us what WWE has planned here.

An unexpected name just challenged Randy Orton RIGHT HERE.
