29-year-old WWE star reacts to attack; makes a request

The May 14 episode of NXT saw the return of a 29-year-old WWE Superstar who was out with a back injury since December 2023. The fans of the white and gold brand welcomed former North American Champion Wes Lee as he stood in the ring and spoke to them. However, he wasn’t received warmly by a villainous stable.

Aside from Wes Lee, Gallus also made its surprising return to WWE. The faction attacked the trio backstage after Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs got themselves an opportunity to become the number one contender for the NXT North American Title.

Now, Lee has called out Gallus’ leader, Joe Coffey, and made a request to management. The 29-year-old tagged NXT General Manager, Ava, and asked for a match against Coffey.

“AYO @Joe_Coffey attacking me must’ve had a purpose. Just because I’m focused on my North American title doesn’t mean I won’t knock you across your thick skull. @avawwe_ what are the chances you can add him in next week?? I’m sure the others won’t mind.”

Lee is prepared to retaliate and pay Gallus back for the sneak attack. Unfortunately, another superstar who got ambushed won’t have a chance to fight back for several months.

The message sent by Gallus proved too costly for a WWE Superstar

Just before the episode of May 14 ended, the cameras showed Wes Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs lying on the floor. Gallus’ leader looked into the camera and sent a message to the NXT locker room, establishing his dominance before the episode ended. While the ambush was just a means to make a statement, it severely injured Ivar.

Not long after the attack, WWE announced that Apollo Crews had replaced the Viking Raider in the Speed Tournament. Moreover, he has also lost his shot at the number one contender match for Oba Femi’s NXT North American Championship.

Ivar has a spinal injury and will be out of action indefinitely. It would be interesting to see if Wes Lee makes Joe Coffey pay for his underhanded tactic and avenges himself and Ivar.
